**Full view for better-ification**My character Zelenn as a mermaid, even though she's not actually a mermaid character.
I just got this picture in my head and decided to draw it. Then, I colored it on Photoshop (it nearly killed me)... and I had a personal epiphany while coloring. 
Hence the title. I beg you, please enjoy. ^__^

I like the coloring on this, especially how you used a bunch of different colors to shade, like on the skin. And the pose is great, as well as that border/circle with all the animals around

I LOVE the dreamy expression. The colors are perfect, and the scales along the ... tail./fin thing are SPLENDID. Not sure how you did it, but it's awesome!!
Also the frame thing is gorgeous- what a splendid idea! the only ONE thing I can find thats sorta wonky is the dolphin ^_^ but it's still gorgeous

Well, I can say I had a photoshop epiphany that played into another inner one, and that epiphany was how to get the blue shadows... put a layer over it and make it 40%-or-so transparent. I was very proud of myself.

wow! i can see a huge difference on this one. the colors really are more thought out and unified. i like the blue shadows especially. it shows that you've been experimenting with layers too! the fin is especially beautiful and you're making really great use of textures. the lineart itself is great, i just looove the turtles <3 it's still a bit shaky, that most definitely improves as you go along. i do believe you are on the right track! ^^
