Considering this is the second picture I've uploaded of her, and this is the second time I'm referencing my old submission Drawn Out of Water [link] , I really feel like I should tell you this character's name now and some information about her. Just so she doesn't simply continue to be "that one mysterious girl who's always in the water." So, let me properly introduce Talise. Her name means "lovely water," "beautiful water," and even "drawn out of water."

I could peg this as either some vague remake of Drawn Out of Water, or a simple study in water lighting, where Talise just made sense as a subject since... who am I kidding, she's the girl who's always in the water. Without getting into the long novel (literally) of Talise's story, simply put: she is something of a personification of the water element. She can manipulate water, use it, fight with it, but she can't create it on her own. The idea behind this drawing was to illustrate that she is a part of it as much as it is a part of her--she "controls" it, but it has its own power over her; the element is an extension of herself, and she is an extension of it. In essence, they exist as one. And, just as all of us with our own inner selves, there is a peace in her union with water, but also a sense of tension. That concept is what I was exploring with this.
