The one on the left is Misri-Family Kamna-Nistha Neena, age 19, an ambitious noblewoman.

On the right is Keemaya-Family Shailen Rivan, a cheeky peasant girl (18).

I write for fun, and I've writen a series of short stories (like a collection for a novel) about a race called 'Aynl'. They aren't humans, but co-exist with them on an alternate reality plane. There are two arcs to the story, the first being set during the Human-Aynl war, and the second set four hundred years later after the two have made peace. The two characters shown above are two of the three main characters of the second arc, from the Jagvi tribe, who fall in love-hate with each other.

I was inspired by Mayan, Inca, Aztec, Arabic and Hindu culture when making up their history, though I spoofed a whole mesh of other real-life cultures in there as well.

In Jagvi culture it's traditional to place loops of hair over your face (uncomfortable? Nope.) and for a woman over fifteen years of age to tie their hair in one bun. Only nobles are allowed to decorate their hair with jewelry and stuff, and as you can tell the Aynl are very female-oriented. XD

PS- Neena and Rivan aren't really colored that way. Their hair is actually closer to white, with tints of other colors, and their skin is really very dark and wood-ish. I just got lazy with coloring. XD XD XD

As for the actual picture, I really think I'm improving. I get how to make the thing all blendy and stuff, but 'textures' and 'brushes' and the meaning of all those little sliders and doohickeys in Photoshop are beyond my comprehension.
