Description
Another fun sketch I did. My brother studies logistics and my dad works at a big shipyard so I thought they would like this.Related content

it does appear possible to see something like this in the future

Like an earlier commenter, I find this piece quite relaxing to look at. There's something to look at almost everywhere, but never so much that it overwhelms. The ship being composed largely of long horizontal shapes helps the eye slowly zigzag back and forth.
The scifi fan in me loves the idea of intermodal freight (container) shipping expanding into space with only minimal adaptations. It's adapting to air travel, so why not space travel? Space cargo workers might not even need extra qualifications, aside from the usual space travel/lodging basics that even tourists would be expected to pass.
The nerd in me can't help but be a little annoyed, though. The shape is so un-aerodynamic, that this ship would require a lot of fuel and would have to move slowly if it encountered any sort of atmosphere. It would work fine for being built in space and shipping from space station to space station or the like, where there's no atmosphere to provide air resistance, but you've depicted it in an atmosphere.

I defenitely think you are right. We could say that this planet is a planet with a very low gravity. Or maybe this is a nebula in space looking very much like our clouds. Thanks for the feedback!

Awesome idea. It's making me think of a society where spacefaring has become as normal to the people as travelling by ship or plane is for us today. Awesome picture. Makes me want to continue thinking about the ideas for my own scifi universe which features exactly such a society.

Now THAT would be one hell of a spill if it tipped or crashed!Β
Fantastic work with the sky around. Oddly enough, this pieces is very relaxing on the eyes. Let's you drift, think maybe of the staff on the freighter, what their lives are like in the future, even if it's very mundane. It's very pleasant, thank you Β

Hey there! Thank you so much!
I love your comment about how you think this piece is relaxing. Im kind off thinking about a direction to take my work. I loved working on this one but I thought it lacked story. But I'm glad that it makes you think about the crew!
