XD I was looking at what Spyro had turned into. And I thought wow. What the hell happened? So then I made this picture comparing the two pictures. Left- Old Spyro Right-The "New" Spyro.

lol.XD I hope in the 3rd TLOS that they purposly made them look older because a new company made 3, and they do look older. I just hop thats not their baby vertion. <_< Because baby stubby spyro is pritty cute. :3 but in 3 they look like 16 year olds. What I say: 1st TLOS 10 years old. 2nd TLOS 13 years old. 3rd TLOS 16. Thats what i think in looks, 1 and 2 look same but i think that with time and that 3rd game they wre in cyrstal for 3 years, giving time I say thats their age per game in what ever dragon years are. :3

in the old story, you might get lost! instead of flying from site to site, the new version you put on yourself and your abilities. Here is one specific goal: to defeat the evil done now not much damage. not told that Spyro must always be childish.

He originally looked more youthful, more young and cute. I think the new design looks mature, therefore less cute.
This is the older, tougher Spyro. I prefer the old, to be honest.

I like them in both series, still I'm not sure which ones are canon ones - but so far, for me it's like 2001: Space Odyssey and and 2010: Odyssey Two, etc; Clarke said that all four books take place in separate universes, despite the plot.

I'm glad there are people that agree! I miss the CUTE Spyro games where all the monsters were so animated and had emotions. In the newer games its just a big fighting game. There's no adventure.

Are you kidding? Look at the skin color, the way his eyes are distorted and less determined than the one that matches Spyro's personality in the left picture. His horns are more curved in the new one, his wings were better smaller. It makes it match the sense of his body. The chest on the new one looks like a garbage dump caterpillar, the new one only has two spikes on it while the old one has several. Their fingers/toes are numbered differently. The new spyro is a joke. Look again.

It's still good ol' Spyro, bro. Those little differences are called character evolution, most all characters go through either them being world wide icons, or just your own characters only you know about. I think they both look just lovely and hating on new spyro isn't gonna change a thing, so you might as well quit bitching and just love the little purple hero the way he is, in all his games <3

It would be a change that I would learn to like and adjust to if the change weren't made with zero consideration for the original Spyro franchise. Face it, Universal or whatever company owns Spyro now has turned him into a tool to boost commercial sales to the kiddies. As soon as Insomniac gave away the rights to their beautiful creation, the whole thing went down hill.

Well
alot of people may think that spyro is just something to get kids attention
but when they tried to make it for an older age group (LoS)
the fandom hated it
when they make it more towards younger kids (skylanders)
the fandom hated it
face it the old spyro is never going to come back and the old spyros qualities in the game is absolutely nothing compared to any other game

I think the reason many fans are upset about dotd and the rest of the Legend trilogy is not so much because of the design change, but because of the personality change. Spyro was always confident and a little arrogant, not to mention just a brave average joe.No god-like powers or prophecys; he was thrown into a situation, and he kicked butt because he wanted to, not because he was destined to. The Legend Spyro had a much weaker personality, and went along with the cliche of being more than average, having all these amazing powers that no one else can have, prophecies... It just wasn't the Spyro everyone already knew. As for Skylanders, he has no personality at all anymore in that game; he's only a name that was put there for money. You can barely tell that he's at all related to his origins anymore, except for perhaps the name.
Honestly, that's my only problem with it. Yeah the newer games were okay, but they would have been better if they didn't butcher the dragon himself. :/

LOL LoS wasn't that bad, but it was wayy too mature for my taste, and I thought Skylanders was too childish. The Spyro I'm use to was just the right mix of in between

Also, it's not IMPOSSIBLE to revive it to the way it was especially if they joined ideas with Insomniac (if they ever decide to do that) because all companies have those creative differences and the Spyro franchise was obviously better under Insomniac, because they knew how to make that 'blend' (that's why Ratchet and Clank are doing so well)
And I complain about Skylanders and The Legend of Spyro because I guess you could say I'm just hoping one day they will come out with games just as successful as the 1st 2nd and 3rd :/

So, care to fucking explain? How old are you? 10? You just go and look for the most popular bandwagon and get on it? I played the ENTIRE series, from one to DoTD. Did I hate on the new design? Fuck no! The moral of my rant here is that I've had experience in the gaming world. He's the same character Activision created, so why the hate? He's a DRAGON, for christ sake! Nothing will ever beat the good old spyro games on play station one. I have played the newer ones (the trilogy ) and find I beat them in a mere day. The old ones, my that took me weeks to complete and never grew old.

Now we face skylanders, a disgrace to spyro all together! The last game of the trilogy took me four days because it seemed slightly challenging. Till I used Cynders ability to turn to smoke. I beat the final boss with her and I never took damage from him at all. Sad excuse for a boss who can't stop someone with that ability. Cynder when she was in her dark adult form seemed more of a challenge. If they make new games for spyro, lets just hope they turn to using the old games ways. Lets see I've beat'n the trilogy in a day, repeatedly now.
