Description I have always been fascinated by instances of fractal geometry in nature. As a child I would stare at the intricate patterns made by frost on cold windows, cascading spirals in smoke, fern leaves. Spirals, repitition and self similarity can be found everywhere.

Ultra Fractal 4.03
Photoshop for levels, colour adjustment, resampling, sharpening, border etc.
There are 2 work in progress renders in my scraps if anyone is interested.

This is just exquisite Trystian! The leafy details are colored and textured to perfection. The misty light between the fronds give it a wonderful sense of depth. This is so well done! I love the patterns in nature too.

This worked out very well Trystian... I'm glad you managed to tone down the bright white parts and achieve that extra amount of detail in the small leaves... one couldn't see them as well with the bright white areas detracting the attention... good job my friend!

Whoah awesome! I love the feeling of staring up at the sky through a canopy of trees. There's just enough suspension of disbelief through your use of colors and lighting that it just works. Definitely faving this.

Yes, in nature the fractal seem ever present all the time. From ferns, to flowers, to plants.
This emulates some of it's qualities. Abundance, organic repeatitive, even though this is a static image, the way it look as if there's a wind
that moves and sways the leafy repeatitive pattern.
Fantastic work Tryst!
