I love this style. Your colors are well chosen, and the limited underlight helps me believe that the assassin is deep under the light source.

Two things stick out to me that bothered me right away and I see it all the time with many professional artists that I follow: (1) the 'flow' of the farbcis, the hanging buckles and leather scale strips - the outfit looks designed for being in the air and on land where gravity keeps things in place and the fins and fabric are wavy in little or no breeze. The result is I don't feel like this character is underwater at all. The mid tail section looks like its being drawn or pushed left but the fins blow left as with a wind when they should be dragging through the water behind the tail with the tatters settling up and down. The armor and clothing has nothing apparent to keep it from flowing up around the characters chest and the leather tassles fall down instead of floating with the movement of the body. I like how the crown/tierra armor helps keep the hair out of his face a little. The hair couple with all this doesn't convince my eye he is in water.

(2) The pose of the sword.... my martial art background (knife, bow staff, escrima, sia background) has be scratching my head wondering how his sword got in that position. You see people in class do all sorts of odd things when they are uncomfortable with a weapon like that and 'that' is exactly what I see. He's not holding it in such a way that it would be hydrodynamic underwater, he's not mid slash, his arm is twisted in a way that he's not relaxed, the sword looks pointed more forward than back, they is so much there that just doesnt look right to my eye. Without modifying the art too much it would be more sensible if his grip was up by his chest with the sword in the same pose as a guard. Or grip down and sword back to settle up behind the right shoulder (but this would hide some of the sword in a relaxed ready stance, ready to slash up with a twisted draw from the hip. I'd have fun envisioning how martial arts would change while in the water but speed, distance and power would still control all aspects of the style of art regardless of its medium.

Wow, that was long. I don't do these reviews often. I hope it was thought provoking and helpful -  not just irritating.
