This is completely stripped down and rebuilt redesign of Artemis (from WW not Young Justice btw
) What an unusual challenge. How does one meld Greek and Egyptian styles together? This simple answer is TRY….and don’t make her look like Isis. I think this came out really well. There are the Egyptian details like her headdress, skirt and belt, necklace…and her Greek like a augmented WW style armor and how the headdress is a hybrid tiara. Made gold the central color, and that nice blue as the secondary, with the reds and greens used sparingly (mostly in the details). And, of course, making her less olive skinned of the Amazons and more of the bronze of the Egyptian people…or at least people who hang out in the desert….all the time. *shrugs*

Favorited entirely for the line "try and don't make her look like Isis" and the design, which came out a little "New Gods" I think though. Not necessarily a bad thing.

People have made that New Gods reference with my Diana pieces, and I'm happy for that. I think Kirby's stuff is great and with the book making those psuedo ties between the Greek and New Gods. Makes sense in my mind.

Love that headdress and I always like the way you make the torso designs look armored yet soft at the same time.

Well, if you wander through the Wiki, Artemis was a Bana-Mighdall, an Egyptian sect of Amazons who turned their backs on the Greek gods for the Egyptian ones. It wasn't until they were re-discovered, did the two sides meet again. Apparently the leader of the Bana-Mighdall was the sister to Hippolyta. Anywho, they lost their city or territory and became villians for a while before being re-absorbed into the Amazons. Artemis became Wonder Woman for a while, died, came back, became someone else...you know...COMICS!
In the comics, she was fair skinned redhead, I made her more Egyptian (or at least darker skinned for people in the desert) keeping the red hair/green eyes as these Amazons would allow men to mate with them, so the cross characteristics.
