Picked up a commission with Cass in it and it got the wheels turning. Pieced this from previous redesigns I’ve done in the past, streamlined her down to the basics and it turned into this.I’m not a believer in Cass with a cape and this version isn’t any different. I threw this up on my Tumblr acct and there were a couple of people who prefer Cass to have the cape because she's a Bat and everything. TRUE, but if you mix her in with Batman Inc. (where we LAST saw her prior to the Nu52) then five other "BAT" characters don't have capes either. Just sayin.
For me, Cass has to be lightning quick, and a cape on her doesn’t cut it. And I don’t have a problem at all arming her. Nope. In previous versions, I white’ed her eyes out to give a more haunting look, this time I went with a golden eye’d look. Just theatrics.

This is a perfect look for Cass, sleek and stealthy. (Okay, in a Perfect perfect world, I’d love to see the ‘Bat’ symbol—and name—dropped, but that’s just me.) And you are way right about the cape.

I like it. However, she'd look better with the mask on, and night vision goggles to make her extra creepy.

The problem with a full mask or most a facial mask is that she's suppose to be able to read body language and motion with her eyes. If there are goggles or other eyewear that doesn't give her her full visual range, then she's hindered. At least that's my opinion.

Me too! I once posted that they could have the same storyline for Cass by using "super science" and clone her. Its all a matter of intro-ing her father (since Shiva is around now) and having a 'new' character be all Dr. Frankenstein-ing her together.

Nice. Very nice. My one criticism is I'm not seeing where she keeps all her batarangs - she used those a lot. And the grappling cable for swinging around. The leg pouch seems too small for those.
Other than that, lovely design. Since Cass spent half her time ripping off her mask, this is much more practical. Works with longer hair too - seems to me she'd grown her hair out at the end...

Ideally, Cass would have a backpack of sorts that would hold these items. A lower compartment for batarangs and explosives, upper compartment for her grappling gun and ops. equipment, and all together with her sword scabbard. The leg is for escrima sticks (you know, when you need her to "go easy" on people)
The pack is completely connected to her suit so it can't be torn away but slim enough not to hinder movement.

i def agree on the no cape. shes a ninja!! i think i personally would have given her a full head covering with short ears, but i do dig the thought process here as to what she would look like as a current iteration of black bat!

I thought about a cowl or something, but if she's so tuned up with her other senses, wouldn't it hinder her a bit (maybe just a single tick) and she wouldn't be as effective as could be.
