Talk about a character that gets SCREWED. Mutant, not a mutant, Valkyrie, not a Valkyrie. I can do this one thing with my powers…no thats boring, lets get her to do this power. Now I tote guns. *sigh* Sheesh, lady sit down and have a cup of tea.So as far as *I* Know (thanks wiki) Dani’s been restored to Valkyrie status again, sorta. WHATEVER. THIS Dani is the Herald of Hela. Much like the Silver Surfer, Dani must answer the call of her Mistress.
Her look has pulls from Valkyrie, Sif, and Hela. The waves in her armor is to represent flight or air, the skulls for the lost dead that she must seek out, and her chest insignia is Hela’s headdress design. Of course, Dani has some of her Native American details like her feathers and the necklace. Armed with a ‘big sword’ and her bow and arrows, she’s a force to be reckoned with.
She’s even got the skull eye thing going, but you probably can’t see that.

This is probably my favorite pic from your gallery, but also on this site. I'm not a huge Moonstar fan, so when I say I love this I really do mean I LOVE this! Great job on this one and everything else you've created.

It just shows that any character, given the chance can rise to be a standout character if people want to make them that way. Thats the one thing that really burns me about Marvel, is that its got a massive cast of characters, but instead of retooling and reintro-ing old characters, they just make new ones.

Its one of the things that really irks me about Marvel. If you're going to change a character, stick with it, don't let the next writer strip it away because they don't agree with it. Her being a Valkyrie should be more upfront now that she doesn't have her mutant powers.

I *absolutely* agree!! I'm actually reading Fearless Defenders right now, at a friend's suggestion, and I'm far enough in to see that they're hinting she'll be front and center working as one of Hela's Valkyrie. She is such an amazing character, and the writer seems to genuinely love the gals in this book, I can't help but hope!! When I was growing up, I can remember looking up to her character, heh.

Nice job, although I think the one thing that really makes Dani Dani is her long braids.

I thought about giving her her braids, but opted instead of her hair being freeflowing to more represent the 'air' themes in her armor and the mythos of the Valkyries flying across the skies on winged horses and such.
