Awesome Tim,
I've been pretty busy for the past few weeks and haven't got to spend alot of time soaking in all the good stuff, but glad I stopped by DA. You've been busy and I am impressed. Digtal! Way to go! If this is new to you, you definately have what it takes!

Thanks TJ. This was my proof to myself that drawing is drawing no matter what the medium. It sure is a lot easier with a tablet instead of a mouse or trackball.

Yep. That would be one of them. "Not Happy -Preliminary- would be another. I still have to do a background for Edward E. The nice thing is you can save all of your layers and change them at will. So if you have a great background and you want to use it for another picture, you just transfer it as a layer to your new picture. Cool stuff huh?

I'm still learning about layers. It's tricky.

Again, ArtRage shows you about layers. It also lets you see all of your layers and lets you make changes to any of them any time. I think you would really love the way the program is set up. Until I used artrage, I never messed with layers because I didn't know what to do with them. ArtRage shows you all the tricks to get really professional art the first time and every time. I think you should get the download and give it a try yourself. You'll have a blast, I know you will. Digital art is very new for me, and everything I know, I taught myself. What I like so much about ArtRage is it makes everything easy to do and understand. It's not like doing digital art at all, it's more like traditional art using your screen as the drawing board.

Yeah, you should have the original sketch as well. The line art with my signature on it. BTW, Thanks. It really means a lot coming from you.

I'm working on another Edward picture. I got a screen shot from the FMA movie and using that as my reference. Should be done soon. I draw weird, I always start in the middle and work my way out. My line work is all done and I've finished his face and hair. The hard part will be the background. I'm not going to get lazy this time, I'm putting the same background from the screen shot. You'll see soon enough.

start from the middle? well i guess that's not a bad idea~~ seeing as most of my pieces are off- centre (unintentionally ) haha, i always start from the top right, diagonally to the opposite bottom~ because i'm a lefty ^^ and i dont want to smudge... but it depends on what the subject of the drawing i, i suppose~~ I had some colouring going digitally before.. but i dont have any fancy equipment, so i'm doing it by mouse and with macromedia fireworks
haha! i'll try finish it sometime... it'll take a while though (: looking forward to this~~ should be really good ^^ how is everything anyway? have you got any more music up for me to listen to? (; let me know

As an example, the piece I'm working on now, I started with the eyes and worked out from there.
I'll be posting an intermediate of my latest version of Edward Elric. I still have to do a background to complete it right.
I've done most of my digital art with a track ball, I've found that zooming in and out really helps to get the detail. Even now with my tablet, I still use the zoom to get the detail right. You might want to check out Monoprice.com, they have an assortment of tablets that are very reasonable. ( that would be under 30.00 pounds for you) Maybe you could mustard up the funds for that. Most of my art has been done in GIMP or Paint.net. Now I have Photoshop CS4 as well as ArtRage Pro. I really like ArtRage, it has some really cool features that allow you to paint from an original picture. I emphasize the word PAINT. It's just like painting with real oils or acrylics and even water colors. It does have a nice set of pens as well so you can do pen and ink style drawings or felt tip drawing. The piece I'm working on now I did with the felt tips. Be sure to let me know what you think.
As for me, I'm doing pretty good, I just don't like spring weather, too unpredictable. For example today was kinda gloomy but warm, tomorrow it's going to be windy and a good chance of rain, then Monday is supposed to be sunny and in the 70's. Just makes my body crazy when it changes so much. I ride a scooter most of the time, and when it's rainy it's no fun. When it's rainy and windy it's hell. Since I work nights, the chances of me getting wet are very good. BTW, I've made some new jewelry for my web site. I'm not going to open it up til I have a lot more to sell. As always, I'm keeping very busy. So much to do, so little time.
Well Eleanor, I'm going to hit the hay for a couple of hours. You take care and have a wonderful Easter.

HIIII! i just laughed so hard~~ seriously, the fact that you ride a scooter is SO YOU!! haha, i can imagine that doing that in the rain wouldnt be fun in the slightest~~ haha, still funny to picture it though
Ouch, you sound very busy :c and by the way, what is your tim's jems website link? is it up yet?? i really want to seeee (: I'm so happy for you that you're doing what you want~~ like seriously how do you find the motivation to work a night-time job, do computer art, make jewelry and get drenched on a scooter all in 24 hours?? AND SLEEP??!! seriously haha I hope I can be as motivated as you later on (: I need to learn japanese (: i've started, and i'm learning to read and write now.... but let's just say at my right i'll be fluent by the time i'm 30... wow 30, that thought scares me @.@ haha
I just realised i've been going off on one for the past i dont know how long, so back on focus! Yeah i think I could afford a tablet, and we do have the full photoshop package on a disk somewhere , so that's nto a rpoblem~~ th eonly thing is, i have to wait until I get a laptop~~ i'm still using my parents computer and it really is ancient~~ it can barely run 2 programmes at a time... one always closes down
haha. hopefully this summer i'll be in luck! ^^ I'm going to apply for a summer job in a cafe anyway to earn a little~~
yeyy! haha, nah i think it'll be an experience (;
I'll go check out your edward art now~~ i think i've seen it up already, or maybe i'm imagining things~~ but from the brief glance i took, it looks pretty special (:
The weather hee's crazy too, by the way (: just thought i'd tell you that my hair DOES NOT like it!!
anyways, going to grab some dinner (: love to hear from you soon keep up the good work!! eleanor x
