Secret Santa gift for . I was apparently able to choose any of her characters, so I picked her fursona with her fursona's mate because I wanted to draw a cat rubbing up against another animal. XD Taking a break from digital and doing some pictures in colored pencil again is really nice (I kind of feel bad for the lack of background though), and being able to use my scanner at home is great! I think the heart was my self justification for not drawing a background on this one. XD Which now I feel kind of bad about because most of my Secret Santa recipients give me comments like 'oh wow, it's great! Thanks!' and I was kind of like 'that's it?'

Oh, something random but cool I noticed was how the red on both of the characters tend to meet in similar areas--almost looks like they're blending together, which I think further expresses the cuddly mood in the picture.
Although I really love the picture, I do feel a bit inclined to make a comment about it (I'd like to think of it as a critique, but I feel like I'm just being biased and picky). Anyways...
I've noticed that with colored pencils, when you color with a dark color, it tends to have a high contrast with the paper. Although this isn't necessarily a bad thing, I guess I kinda feel like a lot of the coloring was left a little *empty.* It still looks great, and I can definitely tell the effort you put into it, but I guess the contrast of the white paper and the black fur is very noticeable to me (talking specifically about the white within the character that didn't get colored as much).

But yay, you kinda answered a question I had: could this be avoided with more and more layers? I remember the first time I picked up a Prisma, you recommended that I used dark blue, gray, or brown. Is that another technique? Teach me, Rouge!

It probably could, depending on how many layers and how it's blended (pressing too hard usually doesn't do it as well, but maybe that's just personal opinion). You can pick what kind of black/dark gray you want by the base (other grays, browns, dark blues), and that changes the color! I'm not sure if any of those colors is better than any other, but it's definitely something to keep in mind~ Hope that helps, and if you have any other questions, I shall answer them in the morning for you!
