Polarity Bot is a complexed and worthy opponent for HeroBot. His signature attack, Magnet Grab allows him to control the power of magnetism, his right arm attracts metal objects and his left arm repels them, generating a push-and-pull form of attack. When HeroBot first encountered Polarity Bot, he was collecting important parts for Dr. Omega's experiments. HeroBot felt the full effect of Polarity Bot's Magnet Grab after being tossed around like a hot potato until he magnetized him to some metal railing. After being freed from his sticky situation, HeroBot learned that he needed a way to protect his armor from the effects of magnetism. Prof. Moon was able to create a belt with a magnetic shield generator that would protect HeroBot, plus he made it out of plastic so it would be effected by the Magnet Grab. When HeroBot faced Polarity Bot again, he was safe from his magnetic grasp, but still had problems dodging the metal debris he sent flying back and forth. HeroBot needed a plan to use Polarity Bot's powers against him and the Prof's magnetic shield generator was just the thing. HeroBot cornered Polarity Bot in the city science center and faced him. But this fighting was just a distraction, allowing Simon to sneak up from behind and plant a magnetic stabilizer on Polarity Bot, thus trapping him in a bubble of his own magnetic field, immobilizing him. With Polarity Bot no longer a threat, HeroBot was able to successfully reformat him and renamed him Magnus. Magnus was free from Omega's influence and helped HeroBot by dismantling the weapon Dr. Omega was going to use on the city. Afterwards, HeroBot gave Magnus a job at the science center, showing how much fun you can have with magnetism like sticking to surfaces. He also spends his time collecting metal garbage off the street and bringing it to the recycling center to be reused.
