Click Download to watch the file! Here is a tutorial I produced on how to make a collage. I really hope that it helps some of you!
I did this with a program called "Wink" It's really not that hard to use, I was just learning on the fly with it!

If you wish I could do it in an Irish accent.... Or I can do it in Southern U.S....
I also do Texan, New Jersey, Northern U.S. (cheesehead), Aussie, and in the mood Ghetto Black Ebonics.
You're talking about accents, and you're from Ireland!?

What a great tute! It is very easy to follow, with clear instructions and a nice pictorial how-to. It's done at a pace that is great for people new to the collage process. Thank you for posting this very useful tool!

Hi Bob
Just had a look at your tutorial
you did a great job there
i use photo shop and wondered as i am going to enter this contest of yours

Sure! Photo shop works about the same. To create any collage all you are doing is copying and pasting the images onto a background. This does give you a chance to explore your photoshop program also! You can even use a photo itself as the background. You might want to use the "Help" on PS and search "collage" I'd almost bet that it will tell you how.

Thanks for getting back to me Bob
i have been using photo shop now for quite some time looking at this tutorial was useful ( for the Home Town contest) as i don't normally follow or read such things. i guess it more of going by own instinct, trial & error etc etc.with the copying and pasting did a lot of that at school
Finally am i allowed to use photos which have a kind of arty feel to them

Hi Andrew!
You might want to go back again and read the contest rules, on my journal. The link is in my signature, below. Sometimes, for an individual program it does help to push that little "help" link. I really can't write a tutorial for every program. Simply put, I can't afford to purchase every program that will create a collage.
Be sure to be aware of the "Purpose" of the collage itself. It is supposed to depict your area in a realistic manner. It should show off you ability with the camera, in 5 or more images, and make the person viewing want to visit your hometown. Often times, you can get too artsy with a photo and it becomes a real turn off for the judges. Also, you can enhance a photo to the point it has become a "Photo manipulation". We had a few entries last year that this was the case and the judges didn't vote for them. It's also not a good idea to try to make "political statements" with your entry.
I want everyone to do well on this contest! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to drop me a note!

Hi Bob
Alice has only just told me you updated your journal for the contest ( Home Town) so i have had a another look as with all my questions and i am sorry that there was quite a lot to ask
it was Alice who told me about this contest and kind of gave a hint that maybe i should enter
There fore i wouldn't expect you to a write a tutorial for photo shop in order of how to put a collage together i have bookmarked your page on DA so if i do run in to problems i can then look at your tutorial again
On the subject of only entering photos as i said to Alice i could easily get away with the fact of leaving them as they are some of my images might look artsy but one thing i don't go into the field of HDR or photo-manipulations

Well, even Paint.net works similar. From what I understand, Corel PSP was patterned off of Adobe, so I figured most folks would get the idea. Corel is pn;y a $99 program, and it is pretty good. Not as powerful as Adobe, but sure as hell not as expensive either!

btw, if you have a boxed copy of Adobe laying around that you want to get rid of I'll note you my address, and pay the shipping!
