A periodic table of MLP characters!Period 1 (Winged Unicorns): Celestia, Luna
Period 2 (Unicorns): Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Trixie, Sweetie Belle, DJ P0N-3, Lyra
Period 3 (Pegasi): Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Derpy Hooves, Scootaloo, Soarin', Spitfire
Period 4 (Earth Ponies): Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Octavia, Doctor Whooves, Cherilee, Photo Finish, The Mayor, Apple Bloom, Big Macintosh, Bonbon
Period 5 (Other animals): Spike, Gummy, Hydra, Parasprite, Ursa, Dragon, Gilda, Zecora, Angel, Opalescent.

I dunno... I have to say I disagree with this.
I'd try to put them in columns of similar characteristics, though that would be really difficult (but rewarding).
I'd have put Pinkie as a halogen, but I suppose the Alkali Metal column works just fine.
Maud Pie should be all the way to the right. So should Tree Hugger.

Interesting Layout. Celestia as Hydrogen reacts with practically everything and is everywhere, while Luna is inert. The Mane 6 (plus Spike and Gummy) are all Alkaline. And apparently The Doctor is made of metal.
It has been years since I took chemistry, but I still remember some elements by symbol - I kept reading Angel as Silver before reading the description.

Yeah, I read Angel as silver too! The layout isn't meant to be taken literally (i.e. The mane six as alkaline). I just realised that the characters could be divided into periods and that all of them sort of fit. Like the two at the top (alicorns) are perfect because they are tier one, but also there are two of them, just like H and He. The only group (column) that sort of acts like the real ptoe is the one with the CMC.
