I believe I forgot to commented on this lovely piece back when I Favorited D:
The textures and color depth in this is just stunning-- what a strange alien looking landscape, but looking closer this could very well something seen here on earth. Rarely do people take the time to really look close at the shapes, texture and scenery around us, there really are some very unique formations. Even in our own bodies. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous organic painting! Inspiring!

The imagination, and the brain.
Life, and the mind.

I can just imagine a big turd passing through one of those gut-like structures. I freaking love this!

Wow, this is so amazing! The veins and organs look like twisting vines and roots... it's definitely a landscape I can see myself walking though in a dream! I also appreciate your use of traditional media - more and more artwork these days is done digitally. Not that digital art isn't *insanely* hard in its own right, but I always enjoy seeing someone who actually puts a brush to canvas to create something incredible. Great piece, I love it! And congratulations on the DD!

Hooray! Love seeing traditional painting in the DD area. The composition is really working in this, I like the balance between the larger areas and smaller, finely detailed areas. The yellowish color makes my stomach turn a bit, but I see that as a good thing

Reminds me of the legendary anime Akira when Tetsuo was physically overwhelmed by his powers. what do u think?

Elegent, yet disgusting. That's the only way I can describe this.

Man...this is bringing back images of childhood nightmares I had where I'd be stuck in such an environment (I had a childhood fear of anatomy illustrations, and my mind would make up abstract "scenes" of it when I was asleep and then be kind enough to make me force my way through the cavernous fleshy landscape for a way out ) As I grew older I grew out of it and thus find it not disturbing anymore. But this and the others are pretty hauntingly like what I got

Gorgeous! This is the kind of art I really love! You more than deserve a daily deviation.

Looks like within Tetsuo Ashimaยดs bowels when he "mutated" (Akira)
But it looks great!!!

This really reminds me of the Flood Infested High Charity ship from Halo 3 (If you've ever played it )
Very cool, well done

Can you tell me a little bit about your process, how do you come to put together such a great composition. There seems to be a blend of photographs with your imaginative ideas about the body and they flow and intermingle throught the piece. I bet you were a big fan of the magic school bus..

ha ha! I've never gotten that before, the quip about magic school bus, I've watched it but I rely more on actual anatomical photos and books than pop culture influences. The compositions are coming from looking at a bunch of art and some sketches i was making for this series. Most all of art relies upon some formal principles of art and recognizable characteristics that pop up again and again. This painting is from my imagination and impulse, the others are from selective editing of photos in anatomy texts. Its a very simplistic process, and your right I paint this stuff because I often find deeper insights are inherent in this material
