I'm scared...Why ever is that, my dear?
But winter is coming...
It hasn't come yet my dear, so stand in the sun while you can.
But the trees are dying...
They are only sleeping my dear, can you hear them dreaming?
The birds are flying away...
But the chickadees will stay and sing sweet songs.
I am afraid...
Of what my dear?
Of needles and vans with dark windows and masked men...
I am here, and nothing will hurt you.
How ironic it is that the master of lies would be so moved by the plight of a little girl that he would spin his lies into stories and whimsies to comfort her.
Micron pen, Prismacolor Marker, white acrylic for the highlights, and way way way too much free time. I am so happy this is finally done! It's a pity that the scan and resizing didn't get all the little details, I may need to upload some cropped versions. I really like it though, it's much more surreal than usual, but that's not always a bad thing.

I view everything full-size by default - so all I saw initially was the girl in the tree with nifty red... sheets? Curtains? Very nice, I thought. Kinda different from most of your other stuff, but nicely executed and well done.
Then I scrolled and POW! Caught me completely by suprise. Wow.

I don't know what this is from, but I love it. The colors are amazing. I love how you combined red with the black and white. And the poem that goes with it is perfect for the picture. It's great.

stunning work. the tree bark is especially great to look at. the red sheets are amazing and they add an odd quality to the piece. they help to complete the image. it is very much like a dream. bravo!

Since when is Chim the master of lies??
Chimaera is so beautiful in all his weirdness, I love him to bits. His torso seems a little bulky here, though that may be the bases of the tentacles making it look odd. Love the composition. You wanted dynamic, you got it. The whole picture screams "blowiiiing..... RIGHT"
The girl is wonderfully done as well, you've got a great pose going for her. Chimaera's right hand looks so gentle and at rest against the tree like that, it's wonderful.
The whole mood of this is beautiful, with the whole "peaceful monster" thing really working out well.
I do find myself wondering how Chim's staying put on the treetrunk though...

Dear old chimera used to be manipulative lawyer known for his ability to lie absolutely straight faced, hence the master of lies thing.
Also, I'm gonna claim his lower claws are digging into the tree, or he's wearing spikes, or some silly nonsense like that.

As surreal as it is, it seems quite sweet. I love the contrast of the red versus black and white, soft versus sketchy, innocent versus scarylookingmonster. XD As well as the little description excerpt.

Wow. Awesome image. The red curtains hanging from the tree give a very neat effect. I almost thought it was fire at first. I like the depth of the color in contrast with the sharp ink of the rest of the image. The Master of Lies is a neat design as well!
