Description Left:
I don't know. Both characters have lady bums. There.
On a more serious note, this stuff may be recycled into the Itzpapalotl story. I'm trying to work on Babyface first though.

Middle:
It's one of those things that sends me into a seething circling rage, that the U.S. is perfectly happy to send its soldiers into poorly thought out ground conflicts and then refuse to give them benefits when they return home. Pfft, you thought you deserved a safety net for risking your life? You should have been born rich then. Originally that was the whole theme of the Babyface saga. It isn't anymore, but the motif of the homeless veteran survives in Madcap.

Right:
I drew a Babyface. because.

Do you know Tsutomu Nihei? Your (amazing) artwork got a slight touch of his dark cyberpunk style

I'm a bit new to this world you created, but it seems incredibly interesting! Care to explain to me what exactly "Babyfaces" are? Or if not that, than can you direct me towards something that could explain it?

Babyface, or Brian, is a TAC-COMP UMH-3A demiorganic chassis created for warfare. Babyface is just the name of one of these chassis, not the name of the 'species'.

Well, thanks for telling me...but I found that out perhaps a year ago.

Yeah... I looked at the date you posted the comment right after I posted. Silly me.

Heeeey, these look familiar!

Man, that Babyface on the right...Suave but deadly. Also, something I was thinking about with Madcap--I wonder to what extent innate prejudices regarding physical appearance would play into our sympathies towards decommissioned GE and cyborg soldiers like this. Or are beings like him so ubiquitous in the future that nobody would even flinch at the fangs, talons, and integral/defunct military hardware...?

Also, Lady Bums would be a great name for a band. Just sayin'.

In the full story Madcap would be demilitarized (complete with missing body parts!) and between all the other modded people in the future, he wouldn't be scary for the reasons you mention.

People would still avoid him because a) he's homeless and begging for money, and b) he's obviously got a lot of military training.

Lady bums is a great band name, but the barenaked ladies might protest the similarity!

re: Madcap would be demilitarized (complete with missing body parts...!)

Oh man, that's brutal. It's bad enough that today's soldiers are maimed on the battlefield; these guys don't even get to keep the body parts the military gave them in the first place. The irony, it burns!

Aw, and I was so looking forward to their collaborative side project, the Barenaked Lady Bums...I hear they had a great new "back-up" singer all lined up.

For the record the military offer's health care to those soldiers who are injured in battle, even after that soldier is discharged from duty. The amount varies depending on the medical requirements and the suffering incurred by the injury and its aftermath. Fortunately the army medical corp is made up of human beings with emotions and conscience's and they do their best to help us out.

Oh man... I love that center image! Just as ~AmnioticOef said, it's strangely haunting...

Wow. Amazing as always.
