LOL TWO WEEKS OF PENCILS AND COLORED PENCILS AND CHARCOAL PENCILS...my hands are now permanently black...Just a sweet, "Ma Belle Evangeline"-inspired image that I've had in my head awhile and finally decided to come out of my hand in a semi-decent form. Chuva stargazes...and Meta has his eyes on something else.

First things that I saw when seeing this picture...the expressions are well drawn and gives the entire picture a more relaxed, settle feeling. (I have to say, all of the expressions that you draw are fantastic!) The textures done with the charcoal pencils seem to liven up the sky with movement instead of a flat, boring, complete black. I think, though, that a few less stars may create less of a distraction for the focus on Meta Knight and Chuva. The night sky seems quite active already with the textures from the charcoal pencils.
Very smooth coloring with careful edges. I love Chuva's flowing hair and her almost wishful pose with her arms crossed in a relaxed position. Meta Knight's form is also very nicely done.

Trying to do the stars of the sky traditionally was pretty hard, especially since I was using a charcoal pencil for the black and nothing can go over charcoal. I would up just coloring around certain dots to do the starry effect. The result is that the stars are huge and randomly placed; I was kind of taking a leap with the composition there. So I completely agree that the sky is kinda busy. I think that if I'd done it digitally, it would have been better, but I'm a pencil addict
Glad you liked the characters' forms! Honestly, I thought that Meta went a little wonky because of the size of him compared to the rest of the paper (it was a regular 9 1/2" x 11") but I'm happy to hear otherwise...or at least, that it isn't too noticeable XD
