Description
This is a pic of a collection of keys, some are clock keys, that I strung on leather cord. I have seen steampunk jewlery that incorporates antiwue keys like these but in the end to me it feels like it over clutters the history of the keys. I like them and their history to be the main subject. They are so powerful on their own, I don't have the heart to cover any part of them up.Want to see more? Check out my blog at: [link]

Such beautiful antique keys, I wish I had that many! It saddens me to see real vintage keys buried in clutter for steampunk art. I think they should use those fake antique keys that you can get in the scrapbook section at craft stores instead. Where do you find so many, I look but never seem to find them

I check around at antique stores and estate sales and I seem to have more luck in farming areas. Heheh, it is a race sometimes because other people buy them and make windchimes out of them so I try to check in with stores a lot. The estate sale finds are more of a by chance kind of thing though. I really need to go to more. If you are interested in some of the clock keys, Secret Oktober, a store where I sell some of my goodies has them for sale online at: [link] They come on a leather cord tied by a slip knot. Most of the ones listed at the store have identifying numbers or some unique writing on them.
