Description
Long before Sirius had become a warrior, before she had won many battles and gained many scars, she had been somewhat of a dreamer. She desperately wanted to look upon the smooth surface of the mirror of the moon, and could barely wait until she was old enough to take her journey with the other initiates. She wanted to know what her destiny would be. Would she be a warrior? A singer of tales? A renegade? She wanted so badly to know. often at night, when her parents were both asleep, she would wake and quietly walk to the small pool at the back of her cave. She would stand near it's edge, and stare upon it's crsystal surface, the water casting a soft light over the rock walls. As the water's reflection played upon her face, she would stare at her own reflection, thinking and dreaming of the day that she would get her chance to look upon the mirror of the moon.

Well, here it is! I had a few days after exams to work on this, and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. It is for Losmios's contest, as is the little passage above. I learned two things while working on this. 1) I cannot airbrush rock walls. I just can't. 2) My scanner is doomed to be messed up forever, making my lineart yellowish and pixelly *kills it* Anyway, I had a lot of fun working on this, while reading the real Firebringer books by Meredith Ann Pierce. They are fantastic. I have number 2 & 3 on order as we speak.
