When I played Thief(4) I feel it like I was playing Dishonored, and IN THAT MOMENT
I STARTED TO SHIP GARRETT WITH CORVO
And I named the ship "Black Crow" xD

Yeah they are pretty simliar. As much as I know the developers of Dishonored got inspired by Thief(the old games)
Did you ever see Corvos concept art? Seriously he just looks like Garrett.
Also there is a reference in Dishonored. One of the ninjas close to the end trains the other and says something like "Stay in the shadows etc"
and the exact same words used the guy who trained Garrett in the first games
I started to ship them because my girlfriend is really into Garrett and Thief and one they she threw some pictures at me and I kinda fell hard.
Then we played Dishonored and Theif4 in 4 days like we never stopped playing and thats how I fell for them.

I didn't finish Dishonored :c I can't remember why I stopped with my playtrough, I though that another game came in my list and I forgot about Dishonored.. But I reeeeally want to play it again!
aaaaand I didn't know anything about Thief, but I saw the game in "Games with Gold" so I decided to download it..
This is one of the most beatiful and awesome games I played in my life.
I want to play the another ones, but I didn't saw them in the store of xbox :c

I have to say: Thief 2014 was an okay game, the old ones are really awesome but really really difficult
and to be honest: 1-2 are really ugly in grafics
but you learn there about so many characters and enemys, much more than just city watch
you have Hammerites, pagans, human/animal creatures, mechanists, zombies, giant spiders and so on and really expensive stuff to steal, so really check 1-3 out, you will love it to play with Garrett sr.^^

Just finished Dishonored last week.
I've seen the maps of the first games and I loved them. I mean, you dont know where to go, but they are very creative.
Also on Steam the Thief games arent very expensive as far as I remember so I think im gonna check them out

yeah the maps you really need to Learn to read but Garrett will smear informations all over it and I guess its in part 2 where you can write on the map too
what I like very much in Deadly shadows are the cutscenes and that you can change from egoperspective to the third perspective, I mean you can do it that you see Garrett completely and you "Walk" behind him
that very good and usefull to look around corners without leaving the shadows^^
you have so many different kinds of weapons and arrows and you can jump!! Something you can't do the whole time in thief 4 but in 1-3 you can jump around like a bunny XD
and you can shoot the rope arrows Everywhere!
no matter where, shoot it and you can climb up, even when there is nothing^^
and you learn something about the real garrett, because the one in part 4 is not the same garrett as in the old games, the garrett from the old games is long time dead when thief 2014 started

Yeah thats right. I actually prefer the third perspective but in thief and dishonored I got used to it.
Also I heard that Garrett got a sword and in thief 4 he just ... lost it? Whatever he did, he doesnt have a sword anymore. My GF is pretty sad about that.
Alright the thing with the rope-arrows is just great. I always wished to shoot them somewhere else.

he had a sword in thief 1 and 2 in 3 he had a dagger but enough other ways to defend himself
the first thing an old thief fan like me noticed about the new garrett is that he has two "normal" fleshy eyes
Sounds strange first but Garretts right eye in thief 1-3 is a mechanical eye
he lost his real one because of a ritual the Pagans wanted to do, so their woodlord can be super powerful
because if that a pagan woman named victoria ripped out garretts right eye and he got a mechanical one from a group called mechanists
the old garrett was a bit arrogant, pretty sure about everything he is doing and always worked alone, no interesst for others, like the new one who wants to save Erin
Basso is also in the old games, you must save him from a prison and in part two you must help him to rescue his love jenivere. AFter that the two aren't in the city anymore
he is really different from the new garrett and he has a better voice XD

I always felt a bit helpless in thief 4. Like someone notices you, takes out his sword and you are just standing there with your blackjack and you desperately try to defend yourself.
Yes I heard about the mechanic eye thing but I didnt know if it is different in the new game, because he has this shiny blue light in his eye.

Thats also just the way I picture that little mean guy. A bit arrogant and working for himself. Well I liked Erin actually and also the story of the 4th part. So I'm fine with the reboot.

A fun fact by the way: When you play the first mission in thief 2 Garrett explains that he helps basso with his love so basso must do something for garrett too later, thats why garrett is doing it without wanting money BUT when you play it on the expert mode Garrett tells you that he helps Basso because he wanna fuck Bassos lil sister XD
the storys from thief 1-3 are all connected to each other, so you will see characters from 1-3 over and over again when they don't die or not being importand
for example the "Keeper" artemus, you can nearly call him Garretts Father figure, he picked up the poor lil street boy Garrett and trained him to be a "Keeper" too but Garrett left that place as he was 20 years old and live the life of a thief instead^^

but the hardest game is Dark project, because you also have rooms who are running in spirals, you will often loose your way and when a guard sees you, you can't run and hide, he will follow you until he has you
or she, in 1-2 you also have female guards

you get there in thief 3 to get the "Compendium" back, an old book the keepers need
but to the time you are in that house, its not an asylum. Its the home of the poor widow moira
later she sold that house and for many many years...nearly 200 years it was an asylum until erin get in there and then it was left alone on this island
