Description
And now for the Egyptian god Horus, god of the sky and kingship, hero of the Osirian myth cycle...and star of my manga, "Eye of Horus".There's some confusion about him because his role changed early in Egypt's history. Some people try to distinguish between Hor-ur (or "Her-wer"), his original avatar as the sun god whose name means "Great Horus" (or "Horus the Elder"); and Hor-sa-Iset, ("Her-sa-Aset") as "Horus, son of Isis". The average Egyptian probably didn't make it that complicated. Horus was a god, and his role could change as needed.

I feel almost blasphemous when my immediate response on looking is "Birdie! ^_^"

Actually, he seems more comfortable with his falcon form, so I don't think your reaction is really blasphemous at all! I know he's peeking in on things when I see a hawk chilling out on a high perch or cruising overhead...

Oh yeah. I know someone up here who also peeks in via hawks, but he's a different bird altogether.

Those outside of the original culture - in anything, I suppose - always ask questions and make things more complicated than need be, while those a part of the culture just accept it, yeah?
Nice work again. =3
