Description
Guys, guys, did you know sir Isaac Newton was an alchemist? Well, I didn't until I played a reeeal old Trivial Pursuit game (let's just say Queen Victoria is still the English monarch that ruled for longer in this game).Of course I had to check that out. Of course I had to throw some Fullmetal Alchemist on it. I also had to throw Pink Floyd in there, because the balance of the Universe depended on it. Of course I hid an apple somewhere in the drawing too, why make a reference to his work with prismas and not the thing he's universally known for? And of course I should be in bed right now, but who cares? I made Isaac Newton trying to create a Philosopher's Stone... I guess he still doesn't know what the secret ingredient is...
Now for all the deserved credits:

*All the weird flasks, symbols and thingys were taken from the images available in Wikipedia. If you have important things to do, DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alchemy&… ;
*Those symbols in the book that are barely visible? Yes, they're actually in Newton's works about alchemy. Found them here webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/newto… Once again, DON'T CLICK HERE IF YOU HAVE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO. You may get lost and never return.
*Last but not least, that tiny telescope in the back is supposed to be the first prototype of Newton's telescope. Heard about it in this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ESW_N… I don't have to repeat the warnings, do I?

Such a nice illustration.
I like how you put different things together like the splitting of light (great reference to pink floyd xD) and the alchemic stuff. Nice work

Thanks
When I heard that he actually spent 30 years looking for the philosopher's stone my brain immediately thought "Fullmetal Alchemist!". The other Easter eggs (including Pink Floyd ) were added as I read more about him.
Speaking of hidden details, did you find the apple?

Lol now you mentioned it. Its the little tiny red thing inside the flask
Nice xD
Well yea... People are funny.
I laughed when I heared that alchemists in former times tried to find out the formular to make gold out of mercury.
So great

You did!
It's funny yeah. But let's be honest... who wouldn't love to be able to make some gold?

Jadago In reply to TutorialHoarder [2016-05-09 23:13:04 +0000 UTC]
Well it is possible with radioactive isotopes ^^
If you start with Uranium 238 the material decayes to gold xD... But this is quite unstable and will decay within one second too
So theoreticaly its possible xD But only for a short time

TutorialHoarder In reply to Jadago [2016-05-10 11:43:13 +0000 UTC]
It is? Oh my, I had no idea!
That's pretty awesome!
So, theoretically I can make some fake gold, sell it in a matter of seconds and walk away with real money xD

Ah I'm just a nerdy chemistry student xD
But yea it is possible. But if you just want to make money ouf of it you might wait the second because than the gold will decay to platinum xD
But in the end I think it ends up as lead or so xD
So sell it before its bad

Oh, you study the dark arts too. Just like Newton xD
This is most interesting... hold on, hold on, wouldn't the Uranium be more valuable than gold too? I'm sure there's a lot of...eh...nice people out there that would love to get some.
Kay, the trick is too sell it in those first seconds, got it

lol ^^ why is chemistry a "dark art"?
and yea... I think you are right ^^ I havent considered that uranium might be more expensive than gold xD

Because I understand so much about it xD You could bring the most basic fact to this conversation and it would blow my mind... even this whole turning uranium to gold business sounds more like magic than anything else to me
OK, now I just need to get my hands on some uranium...

Lol xD Good luck on getting uranium.
(I think I created a criminal mastermind)

I'm sure you can get some at your uni... I'm willing to split the profit
No, no, no, make no mistake. The criminal mastermind was here all along. But you created a fine way for me to finance my doomsday device!

lol ^^
Too bad we are out of uranium. You should look at the physical faculty instead
Thats just nearby ^^

I SAW THE APPLE! and that weird bleh on the floor..
his expression is priceless! pretty much the face of dark magics students all over the world! ..you know, physics and chemistry

I realize now it was poorly hidden xD
And that weird bleh on the floor is a failed philosopher's stone
Like I always say: Physics + Chemistry = Dark Arts
