Mmm...it's something I discovered not too long ago.. XDPS: the gradation tool is only avaliable on Paint BBS (palleted and non palleted)

After reading this, PaintBBS doesn't seem so bad now... ShiPainter, though, still feels weird drawing in (it doesn't feel as precise as OekakiBBS does, for some reason...).

Yeah, I really only like shi for the pen tool and multiple layers XDDD
I used to be really into oekaki, but then there are only 3 tones and for some reason the layout just makes me jittery XD But your'e correct, oekaki is very good for just plain solids
Except, oekaki animation stinks because half the time it messes up, and when you retouch, you have to wait for the whole thing to play, then you have to correct the errors XD
