Well, here we are with yet another request pic. This request, however, comes courtesy of , who asked me to draw an insertion pic that gives him the chance to be on stage, jamming with one of his favorite Danny Phantom characters, Ember McLain. Well, I hope you enjoy the moment, my friend. Just be advised that Ember has the services of a new bodyguard these days, and he's always "skulking" in the background.Oh, don't worry, Dude. You're in no real danger. In fact, you won't even know he's there. Just make sure you adhere to his one main rule. "Keep your hands to yourself...and you get to keep your hands, PERIOD."
Now, I can already hear some of you now..."Wait a minute. That's supposed to be Skulker? But isn't that SkulkTe...?" Well, let me cut you off right there with a quick explanation. For those of you not familiar with my Danny Phantom fanfic series, Technus became bonded to Skulker's armor after the two were simultaneously captured in a fight with Danny and Sam, and the two did end up becoming SkulkTech 9.9 (as seen in the DP ep., "The Ultimate Enemy"). Now in the end, Tucker and Valerie were ultimately able to separate Technus from Skulker's armor, but Skulker kept the upgrades. So that's basically the look he's sporting now.
, this is your request, too. You requested an Ember pic almost the exact same time did, but I'm sure you won't mind sharing it. I just hope you both like what you're seeing right now, along with everybody else.

Definitely happy that you love the pic this much. AS for Skulker, like I said, it was a minor compromise. Despite having to alter his location, he still looks more or less how I wanted him to. As for Ember, pretty good for my first try, huh? But that just goes to show what I was talking about before. Since this was my first time drawing Ember, I really wanted to show her off. And you can't really do that with that big guitar covering her up a lot of the time.
Well, if you have another idea for a request pic, feel more than free to send it my way. I'll definitely do what I can...except this week. With all the work I've been doing on my pics lately, I'm starting to feel a little burned out. So I've decided to take a step back for a week, clear my head and focus on some other things. Then hopefully, by the time this week is over, I'll have a better idea of what I want to do next...either put up a couple more pics or wait until after I've finished writing my next Danny Phantom fic, "Laws of Attraction". However, I'm still going to be kicking around DA, replying to comments and such, so don't feel like you have to avoid me.

no prob and i just got a really great idea. I love martial art movies andi was thinking Ember McLain and Desiree the ghost genie dressed and doing some martial art style is this one good

Hmmm, you know, I'm going to have to get back to you on that one. I mean, I am going to have to get around to drawing Desiree eventually. And your idea certainly sounds interesting. It's just that no definite image is popping into my head right now. So I'll have to give that a little thought and see if I can come up with something. Or if you have an idea for something specific...
Wait a minute, something just hit me (don't you love it when that happens?). I wonder, how familiar are you with Naruto? I just got a really cooky idea. Why not have a Naruto Shippuden cosplay pic of Ember dressed as Ino and Desiree dressed as Hinata? Granted, Desiree is nowhere near as shy or modest as Hinata, but seeing as how they're both pretty busty characters, it would definitely play. What do you think?

Well, it's good that you know Naruto, as that saves a lot of explanation. Personally, I'm not really that big a fan of Naruto (of the Big 3 in Japan right now, I like One Piece and Bleach a lot more), but I do keep up with it. Of course, I understand why you're a bigger fan of Sakura, though. The truth is, Sakura and Hinata are really the two most popular females in the Naruto universe right now, mostly because they're the two front-runners to become Naruto's ultimate love interest. Frankly, my thoughts on that are that as far as either one of them goes, right now, Hinata is the best CHOICE...but Sakura is the best BET.
Anyway, as far as this pic goes, however, I'm definitely going to have to keep giving this a little more thought. I know you were saying you preferred Sakura, but as far as Ember cosplaying as Ino goes, I wanted that since they both have ponytails, not to mention that Ino's purple color scheme would just blend seamlessly with Ember's, as opposed to Sakura's, which would severely clash. Actually, as I think about it, I think a better candidate for Desiree to dress up as would actually be Fifth Mizukage, Mei Turumi. Both are quite voluptuous characters, and Mei's hairstyle always has her covering one eye, much like Desiree herself.
Actually, this could end up turning into a whole series on DP girls cosplaying as Naruto characters, if you think about it. Here's a list of dress choices I've come up with so far. See what you think.
- Maddie as Sakura and Jazz as Tsunade: I already know what you're thinking. Given their body types, this would be far better if their roles were reversed. But given their hairstyles, I think that the fact that their body types are the opposite of what's required actually would make the picture come out quite amusing.
- Sam as Tenten: Since, in my fanfic series, one of Sam's powers is the ability to convert her Ghost Ray energy into solid objects, this would make her a great candidate for a weapons specialist like Tenten.
- Penelope Spectra as Temari: Let's face it, given Spectra's hairstyle, this would totally play. Although she might prefer to to dress in Temari's pre-Shippuden look, so as to look extra slutty.
- Paulina as Hinata: This is another pairing that could work, despite the fact that again, Paulina isn't nearly as reserved as Hinata. While Hinata's body type actually fits Valerie better, Paulina's hairstyle tends to make for a better fit, as I see it.
Of course, there are still other DP characters that are viable candidates, between Valerie Star, Danielle, Dora Mattingly, etc. So if this gets your creative juices flowing for any other ideas, please feel free to let me know, okay? But for right now, what do you think of what I've got so far?

hm... i see i could understand that but i think u got one idea backwards Sakura would of been played by jazz and maddie would of been tsunade but just trying to be alil helpful but i'll enjoy ur idea that u thought of i don't want to change it alot but take all the time u like pal i don't want to rush u or bug u because whatever u think on i'll enjoy it very well

Well, that was why I gave you that explanation for my reasons (although I probably didn't articulate myself properly). I know that by body type, Maddie would make a far better tsunade than Jazz and vice versa for Sakura. But because Jazz has long hair and Maddie has short hair, I thought it would be cute to draw one of those "clothing reversal" pics that's quite popular, showing what it would be like if Tsunade and Sakura got their clothes switched.
Actually, though, as I was working last night, a thought occurred to me. instead of restricting my thinking to JUST Naruto, why not make the pictures of general cosplay. Keep Ember, Desiree and Spectra as I envisioned them (I'd probably put all three of them into one picture) and with other characters, just go with other animes and other characters. I have a couple of modest ideas of my own, but if this gets you thinking of anything, by all means, I'd be happy to hear you out.

Well, an idea just occurred to me yesterday regarding Desiree, but I want to run it by you first. Considering that this started with you suggesting a pic of Desiree and Ember in martial arts garb and now we've suddenly made the leap to cosplay, I want to make sure that you're okay with this and that it doesn't come off like I'm hijacking your idea and cutting it to pieces.
Almost as if fate seemed to know that I was planning a Desiree cosplay, I chanced to be reading the latest chapter of One Piece yesterday, where the Straw Hat crew are still exploring Fish Man Island. Anyway, in this chapter, we're introduced to Madam Shirley, a character who has to be the best Desiree cosplay choice ever. She's an enormous Shortfin Mako Shark Mermaid, every bit as voluptuous as Desiree, with a similar hairstyle covering one eye...and she's a fortuneteller, no less. Considering that you never see Desiree with legs in the DP series (she's only got a green spectral trail going on below her waist), an idea like this would be perfect cosplay for her.
I'm also considering some other ideas...Maddie as Android 18 from Dragonball, Jazz as Orihime from Bleach and Sam as Sailor Saturn from Sailor Moon (unless I can think of a darker choice - I'm even thinking of giving her a Danny wig and cosplaying her as Videl from Dragonball). But again, I want to make this your decision on whether or not I should proceed along this vein. After all, like I said, you came to me with the idea and I don't want it to come off like I'm stomping all over it. So I'll wait to hear back from you, okay?

Good to hear. Like I say, I'm going to need to give this some thought, if for no other reason than I'd like to come up with some other ideas for characters and I'd like to see if I can come up with a better idea for Sam (somehow, I get the sense that a series like Sailor Moon might not necessarily be her thing).
As things stand, I think I'm going to draw one more Kim Possible pic (it's going to be a Shego vs. Max pic). Then, I'm going to take a step back from my pics for a while and start work on my next DP fanfic, "Laws of Attraction". After that, Ill come back to my pics and hopefully, I'll have some solid ideas fleshed out for this DP cosplay series. Sound like a plan?

Alright, good deal. So I'll get this one pic done in a few days here, then start work on "Laws of Attraction". While I'm doing that, I'm going to touch base with some other friends of mine and see if they can come up with any cosplay ideas for this picture series (helps to kind of get a thinktank going). welll there might be one idea i was thinking about but it features Kitty Katswell from T.u.f.f. Puppy and it might have some cosplay of my own How about having her dressed like Chun Li from Street Fighters since she and her are karate girls lol and sure thing take ur time and have fun too

Well, regardless of the fact that I probably could draw Kitty, then we're getting into other Hartman projects, and I'm not sure how well that'll play out. As for Chun-Li, I know that I was kicking around an idea of having Sam cosplaying her, with Danny cosplaying Guy and Tucker cosplaying Balrog. But I'm not really 100% sold on that idea, so I think I'm going to have to keep trying.
Another option I had for Tucker was dressing him as Master Chief from Halo, with Valerie dressed as armored Samus (and the way you know it's them is that you can see their faces through their visors). That's a possibility. I'm also thinking of cosplaying Jack as Android 8 from Dragonball as well. But like I say, these are just ideas I'm kicking around. I haven't made any concrete decisions yet.

Well, just thought I'd bend your ear a little to tell you what I've been thinking of so far. For a while, I was thinking of cosplaying Star and Paulina as Sailors Venus and Mars respectively. But then, I started leaning more towards Paulina as Nico Robin, with Dash dressed as Franky. I'm still not 100% married to either idea yet, but it's a way to go if I can't think of something better.

Well, like I say, I'm still knocking ideas around. I like Paulina for Nico Robin, too. I've been giving some actual thought to Danny and Sam cosplaying as Ranma and Akane from Ranma 1/2. While Akane makes for some pretty plain and unimpressive cosplay, she's the only one I can see matching Sam's fiery attitude (though Akane is clearly far more temperamental).

Ember has always been one of my favorite DP characters. In fact, I thought of another weakness she may possess!
As everyone probably can tell just by looking, Ember is a punk rocker. Punk rock came about in 1977 and began killing off bands that played music of the progressive rock genre. But there was one prog-rock band punk could never destroy, and their music could be a good musical weapon to combat against Ember's evil ways. That band is my favorite, Genesis!

Hmmm, interesting theory. It is true that Ember's character is based on the old school hair bands that eventually heralded the dawn of heavy metal and it's entirely possible that she lived in that era when she was alive. She may even have run into said band at one time or another. And while it may not necessarily be a weakness for her, it may also stand to reason that she may not like them too much.
Glad you liked the pic. Yeah, Ember has always enjoyed a pretty good fan following.

Yeah, giving Sam ghost powers was pretty much my plan from Day 1 when I started writing my Danny Phantom fics. And I have to say, all in all, it's worked pretty well.
