Well, here it is. After a week of people weighing in on designs and after a nip here and a tuck there, Danny and Sam now stand before you to unveil Sam's "official" ghost logo to the world (again, I use " " because obviously, I don't own the rights to Danny' Phantom).What you're seeing is basically the fifth logo design I made, with a little added swirl on the inside of the "S", in an effort to make the "ghostly eye" just a little more eye-like. Like most things I design from scratch, I wasn't entirely sure how good it would look until I actually did it, but I think it's a nice little addition which also accentuates the "S" just a little bit more.
This pic also acts as a bit of a Thank-you card of sorts to DA member, , without whom this moment would not have come to pass. While I was thinking about making a logo for Sam for a while, it wasn't until she graced me with a design of her own that the brain cells actually kicked in and I started visualizing designs of my own. And while the end result is not her design, nevertheless, I credit her with this logo's creation, because without that original design, I'd still be sitting around, humming and hawing about it.
Sweetie, this moment is as much for you as it is for us. And Danny and Sam really can't thank you enough. I really hope you'll stand and enjoy this moment with us because you really did make this possible. As for everyone else, I hope you like what you see.
And on a slightly unrelated topic, seeing Sam without her coat on, I have to say, I'm really glad I threw the coat into her design. Even with the alterations she made to one of Danny's suits, she just looks kind of plain without it, doesn't she?

While I know this logo has been introduced in 'Junior Hijinks', do you have any plans to call attention to it in a future story?

Well, again, we have to thank for it. While I ultimately didn't use her original design, it was the good swift kick in the pants I needed to get off my ass and starting building one of my own. And some elements from her design ARE imbedded in it.^_^

Still no clue. I suppose, since Danny and Sam won't really have anything to do in my upcoming Danielle story, I could throw in a scene at the end where Sam's designing it and asks Danny what he thinks.

Hey, I just thought of something. Since you developed her long before you came up with this, where would Future Sam have the logo?

To be honest, I'm really not sure. I didn't even have a ghost name for Sam when I introduced her Future self and the very idea of a logo wasn't even a glimmer on the horizon. So I really don't know where a logo would go, as she is now. Besides, that jacket she's wearing is so loaded down, where would it even fit, anyway?

Well, here's a thought. You never mentioned Future Sam taking the jacket off (at least I didn't see anything like that), so maybe you can say that it's on her uniform underneath.

Well, that's certainly a possibility. Although considering how I drew her, I'm not sure Future Sam with her coat off would be too terribly appropriate for a kids' show (let's just say that what she has on underneath...there's probably not much of it).

Although now that I think about it, I could probably get away with a little logo pin on the lapel of Future Sam's jacket or something. I wouldn't have been able to get away with that for Sam's original design, but with Future Sam, it would be acceptable.

Incidentally, I do agree that Sam looks more stylish with her coat. However, it's interesting to see her without it. I was wondering how she looked that way in "Trial By Fire". However, I'd like to point out that I think you missed the glove band on the front side of Sam's hand.

I mean on Sam's left hand, the front of the glove is missing. At first when I read you first story, I though Sam had made the gloves into like fingerless gauntlets except for the middle finger. Then when I saw your first picture of Sam, I realized that the only part of the glove she left was the part that covers her middle finger. However, in this picture, Sam doesn't have the front of the glove as on the back, just the finger part.

Well, when it came to the gloves, what I described in the fic, I guess was more along the lines of a different thing. You ever seen Morrigan from Darkstalkers? The way she has those long evening gloves without fingers, it just sweeps up the back of her hand to loop around her middle finger? That was kind of the look I was going for here.

Well, it just goes to show that without your visual aids, my mind pictures what you're describing a little different than what you're going for.
As for Darkstalkers, can't say that I have seen it (I don't even know if it's a movie or a series). However, I have seen dresses with sort of long sleeves that loop around the middle finger, so I guess I can kind of understand where that look is coming from.

Well, look at it this way. Now you actually SEE it.
As for Darkstalkers, it's actually a fighting game made by Capcom (their follow-up franchise to Street Fighter). Only instead of martial artists, the combatants of this series were variations on classic monsters (vampires, werewolves, yeti, etc.). Morrigan became one of the series favorites (she basically became to Darkstalkers what Ryu is to Street Fighter). The franchise was converted into a four-part anime mini-series back in the 90s, but trust me, it wasn't that great. Mostly because the writers chose to focus the main story on characters they really shouldn't have.

Well, glad to know that Sam's logo has been decided. Now the only question is how to introduce it into the series, if you even have a story idea for the idea. I'm pretty sure it would be too cliche to have Sam receive her logo in the same manner Danny got his.

Well, I'd be lying if I had a story idea specifically to introduce Sam's logo. Certainly nothing planned for "Laws of Attraction". We'll see what happens later on, though.

Glad you love the logo. As for Danny, yeah, he came out pretty much the way I wanted him to. Sam looks okay, too, but for some reason, she just seems to be standing straighter, not quite at the same angle. Chalk it up to a compromise of her body type, I guess. Obviously, I had to make her body thinner and more feminine than Danny's. Oh well, they still both look good.

Which one? The one with Sam as a genie or the one with Ember as a human? I think they're both okay. Maybe not the best of the best when it comes to your work, but that's mostly because you spend a lot of your time drawing Danny. You need to log in some more practice time with other characters.

Well, I think the main thing with Sam is that when you drew her head, you didn't put her bangs in. As for your Ember Pic, well, the basic image is there, but I don't think you drew her quite tall enough. I also think her face could be a little rounder. That's my thing with it.

I always forget the point of Sam's hair I dunno y :S but you can still tell it's Sam and I tried making it rounder but I'll just have to try again. The reason Ember is short is because she had flats on and I was comparing her to when she was dead with the boots on.

Well, I guess it's a little hard to judge Ember's height with those boots. Still, her body does look a little disproportionately small, compared to the size of her head. That could be the ultimate issue with it.
