Description Happy Holidays, all!  I'll admit that this WASN'T the next pic I wanted to get done.  However, it IS a pic I've been meaning to get off my plate for quite some time.  And with Christmas and New Years upon us, it just felt like the time to pull the trigger on it.  After all, this always felt like a Christmas/New Years-type scene in my mind.  You know, redemption, rebirth, togetherness...all that fun stuff. ^_^

For those who are wondering, this is loosely based on a scene I'm planning for late in my Spectacular Spider-Man fanfic series (which I'm STLL looking for co-writers for, so if you're at all interested or KNOW anyone who might be interested, my door is always open ^_^).  But first, a little bit of background/spoilers, to put this picture in context.  Throughout the course of my fics, Peter and Gwen find themselves slowly inching closer back together.  But between finding out that Peter is Spider-Man, gaining Spider Powers of her own, after being experimented on by Miles Warren (who becomes the Jackal, after being exposed to the Globulin Green) and barely surviving an attack by Harry Osborn, as the new Green Goblin (and attack where her father, George Stacy, is crippled), Gwen reaches a breaking point.  As such, she heads abroad and away from Peter, in the desperate hope that some soul searching will help her decide if a life with Spider-Man is really something she can handle.  She tells no one where's she's going, save for Mary Jane.

However, months later, Peter has his mind swapped with Otto Octavius, who places his old body in a chemical-induced coma and proceeds to take Spider-Man's life for his own.  So Mary Jane, sensing something is very wrong, contacts Gwen, telling her that she can't wait anymore and it's time for her to come home.  Returning to New York, now as Spider-Woman, Gwen fights alongside Anti-Venom to defeat Octavius and restore Peter's mind to its rightful body.  But when Anti-Venom leaves to return to California, Peter and Gwen are left behind to deal with the fallout of her leaving.  In the ensuing discussion, Gwen reveals what prompted her to become Spider-Woman and how the resulting transformation has left her feeling more confident to return home.

Which brings us to the image in question.  The basic image is Peter and Gwen finally reconciling, at the perfect time of year to do it, no less.  This was more or less how I've wanted it to look for years.  However, when I was asking for ideas for my 100,000-Hit Commemorative pic, came to me, with the same basic idea, only including Peter and Gwen being inadvertently spied upon by a character from another series Greg Weisman was very closely tied to (bonus points if you can guess who).  I thought it was too good to pass up, so I gladly stole the idea (don't worry, he didn't mind).  So we've got romance, a bit of humor and enough of a holiday theme to make it timely. ^_^

Oh, and yes, the background is a photograph.  I'll admit, I got lazy and took a shortcut.  I just didn't have the time (or the strength) to draw a background that detailed.   Still, the quality is low enough that you really can barely tell.

Well, that's all for now.  Hope to like what you see.  And I hope you enjoy whatever branch of the Holiday Season you end up celebrating.  Peace be with you. ^_^

Have you done Prowler, Hobgoblin or HydroMan, yet?
They were all potentially set for the third season.

Oh, do you mean this Hobgoblin right here...?

...Or possibly here...?

Would you be able to incorporate Peter's father secret computer lab in the abandoned Roosevelt subway station from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 into your story?
Or perhaps XME characters?

I wouldn't expect any movie tie-ins.  Bringing the X-Men in, I DO have plans for, but nothing right away.

Pity; The abandoned subway station for a secret HQ was the part of the movie with best potentials.
As for X-Men, how do intend to portray them, if you do feature them?

Oh, of course, it had potential.  But it was potential that lent itself more to a TV series, rather than a movie series.

Well, it's definitely going to be the Evolution version of the team.  As for how they'll appear in my SSM stories, truthfully, Spider-Man won't be interacting with them much.  The biggest idea I have right now is in the future, when the X-Men open their doors to May "Mayday" Parker (my version of Spider-Girl, only she's Peter and Gwen's daughter, instead of Peter and MJ's).  I have this whole scene planned between Peter and Wolverine, with Peter worrying if having May join the X-Men is a good idea, because she's just getting into the whole "Spider-Girl" thing and that would mean ultimately having to take on the entire team's baggage.  But Logan mentions that he and Peter have both tried the solo act, too, and that's not exactly hassle-free, either.  Which leads to Logan's final line in the exchange...

"Pete...it won't hurt the kid to know she's got some options."

Does that mean that it will use the X-Men: Evolution versions of Steve Rogers and Nick Fury, as well?

BTW; What plans did you have for Harry Osborn?
Will you have him become Green Goblin II/New Goblin by finding and entering the Gas Chamber that Norman Osborn used to expose himself to an airborne low-dose version of the Globulin Green formula, causing it to potentially interact chemically with the residual traces of the serum version inside Harry's bloodstream?
Or will you have him become Venom II by going through the same process that Eddie Brock did?

TuxedAaron In reply to Bengtzone [2017-12-19 05:40:13 +0000 UTC]

I'm not focused on Fury or Cap right now.

Well, Harry's definitely going to become the Green Goblin, mostly pushed into doing it by what he thinks is his father's "ghost".  But in reality, it's actually Norman manipulating him with voices and images of himself, being broadcast through the security systems in the Osborn home, as well as the Goblin Gear Harry ends up wearing.

As for Harry becoming Venom, well, it would be something interesting to try.  I mean, I didn't have a problem with Harry becoming Venom in Ultimate Spider-Man.  My issue was that they just didn't DO anything with him.  However, since my plan would be to have Flash ultimately become Venom, Harry getting the Symbiote would pretty much be a "one and done"-type thing.

Bengtzone In reply to TuxedAaron [2017-12-19 17:26:37 +0000 UTC]

The Symbiote is interested in those who demonstrate a common grudge/dislike/hatred towards both Peter and Spidey alike.
As far as outsiders would be concerned, Peter Parker would simply be a human Moral Compass for Spider-Man so that the 'Masked Vigilante' can maintain the 'Boy Scout' personality.
Whichever individuals it is that see things that way is beyond my knowledge.

I can see how things would play out in regards to Harry, where he would become the new Green Goblin as a followup to him being temporarily becoming Venom-II:
1. Set before the incident that would lead to the Venom symbiote probably reuniting with Eddie, and probably causing the Carnage symbiote to be spawned in the process; The Venom Symbiote gets attracted to Harry and infuses him with memories that would allow Harry to re-experience past events from the perspective(s) of both Peter and Eddie, by mid-bonding process sequence. Spectacular Spider-Man Enter Venom - YouTube  / Secondary Perspective
2. Harry then goes after Peter, probably to try and make him look bad in an apathy-based way of a manner in the eyes of Gwen, maybe even going so far as to use one of the Venom symbiote's tendrils as a probe to infuse her with Peter's and Eddie's memories of the past events since the first appearance of Spider-Man, revealing Peter to be Spidey, or at least convince her of it. Spectacular Spider-Man Enter Venom - YouTube
3. Peter, either as himself or as Spider-Man, then decides to remind Harry of the willpower he built up as a result of the Addiction Withdrawal sessions Harry went through in an attempt to convince Harry to force the Symbiote out through sheer will, including an attempt to tell Harry that letting the Symbiote guide his action would be no different from letting it be in control of his life entirely.
4. Thinking of it that way causes Harry to remember that his father has tried to do so to Harry, as well, and went so far as to take advantage of Harry's friendship with Peter in an attempt to do just that.
5. Harry manages to cast the Symbiote aside, forcing it to go back into the sewers.
6. Harry warns Peter that his dislike towards him makes Harry unreliable, especially since he has added the grudge against both Peter and Gwen he developed to that dislike and even tells Peter that he literally used the Venom symbiote's common hatred towards both Peter and Spider-Man on Gwen, before telling Peter that from this moment forward they will be going completely separate ways.
7. Harry then heads towards OsCorp where he finds facing a supposed ghost of his supposedly-deceased father, who guides him towards the Gas Chamber that Norman used on himself, and convinces Harry that the dormant traces of Globulin Green inside his system will be able to reactivate in a stabilized manner, if he uses the Gas Chamber to turn himself into someone fit of becoming the New Green GHoblin.

How does that look to you?
Does it work well enough for you to use in your Fan Fiction-based continuation of The Spectacular Spider-Man: Animated Series?

Well, some of these kind of conflict with what I've already got lined up.  Would it help if I showed you the ideas I currently have in store?

Sure, I suppose!
It would have been an interesting thing to read about, although whenever it is either better, worse, or just as good as my suggestion will be something that I may need to read to give properly evaluation of.

I take it that Miles Warren did not get his hands on any potential schematics for neither the Vulture suit nor artificial appendages when he created the Scorpion armor?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TuxedAaron In reply to Bengtzone [2017-12-20 02:18:51 +0000 UTC]

Well, given Miles Warren's narcissism, he probably just assumed he could do a better job on his own.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bengtzone In reply to TuxedAaron [2017-12-20 02:47:06 +0000 UTC]

As if that would stop him from incorporating design specs from those schematics into the Scorpion Armor.
Neural Control Chip and Exospine aspects of Doc Ock's artificial 'body extension' combined with the Exoskeleton aspect of Vulture's battlesuit would be interesting on its own, so I would not surprised that Miles Warren would convince himself that no matter how good such a combination would be, he feels like if he needs to prove that he can make something better by personally improving it.

BTW; Should not Kraven and the other members of the Sinister Six not currently locked up either in the basement-based Vault section of Ryker's Island or at Ravencroft Institute have been able to bust Doctor Octopus, Vulture, and Electro out of their current confinements?
Or are you going for the routine with Electro and Octopus escaping during the infiltration of the Venom Symbiote?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TuxedAaron In reply to Bengtzone [2017-12-20 16:30:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, he IS like that.

Well, I don't know if I'd get into a whole big thing about villains escaping, unless it adds to the story.  I mean, honestly, Spider-Man villains are like Batman villains, in that regard.  They bust out of prison so many times that it's just become routine, at this point.  It's just enough to say they did it and people will accept it as just a thing that happens.
