Description
Well, I promised everyone something different for my 20,000 Hit Commemoration, and here it is. Just as I chose to branch from my Kim Possible and Danny Phantom fanart into DCAU, I've now chosen to branch out into the world of GARGOYLES, as well. And now seemed like as good a time as any to trot it out. All in all, I'd say it's pretty good for a first attempt, but don't take my word for it. Take a look for yourself and feel free to tell me what you think.^_^Oh, and for those of you who are wondering what's up with the background, well, you'll have to read my Gargoyles fanfic to find out. I completed that project several months ago and only posted it on fanfiction.net (my Author name is Aaron12 for any who want to look for it there). But I also chose to post the story here now, as an accompaniment to this new pic. For any of you who'd like to check it out, I hope you enjoy it just as much. Remember, comments are ALWAYS appreciated.^_^

Well, his Gargoyle traits won't kick in until he turns 10 (loosely based off the concept that Gargoyles lay their eggs six months after conception, but the eggs take 10 years to hatch).Β So he'll look just like any other baby. ^_^

Well, I'm certainly glad you enjoyed the story so much.Β I hope your husband did, too. ^_^
Yeah, I have the entire series, myself.Β Personally, it was when Disney XD started airing the show for a time that I fell back int love with this series and that was when I pretty much came up with the idea for the whole thing.Β I'm also glad you enjoyed Adam in the story as well.Β I basically wanted him to be as much a combination of his parents as possible. ^_^
As for more, well, I do have a couple of small ideas for follow-ups to this story, if you're interested in hearing about them, but nothing close to being ready to write just yet.Β I am planning some more Gargoyles artwork, though. ^_^
Again, glad you liked the story. ^_^

So glad you enjoyed the pic and the story. This is one of my stories that really doesn't get as much attention as some of my others, unfortunately. Maybe it's because Gargoyles is an older series. Still, the people who have read it seem to enjoy it immensely. This story actually came together in my head almost immediately when I got access to DisneyXD and started being able to watch the series again, rekindling the love I once had for it (even though they were syndicated episodes, which basically means that many of them were edited to within an inch of their lives).
Now, as for a possible sequel to this story, well, I HAVE thought about it quite a bit. Unfortunately, all I have are a handful of vague concepts right now, nothing near being ready to write with. I know I have a very basic idea where Elisa intends to have Baby Adam delivered by C-Section, but her plans get upended when she unexpectedly goes into labor in the middle of the day. And with the Clan asleep, only Macbeth and Talon are available to defend her against a Quarrymen seige on the hospital. Everything else is just broad concepts. I know I kind of see Angela and Broadway taking an especially vested interest in Baby Adam's well-being (although Broadway does get a little jealous of Angela's constant doting on the infant, at first). I've also got a scene in my head which takes place when Adam is two years old and Elisa is getting ready to come off Materinty Leave and return to the police force. Everyone wonders if she'll end up getting stuck with easy assignments at first, since she hasn't been on the streets for so long. To that question, Elisa simply lifts up her shirt to reveal her ab muscles and replies, "Hey, nobody better me that I spent two years keeping up THIS for a first-round knockout."
As you can see, pretty vague.Β But in the meantime, I know I'll have future Gargoyles pics out, so you can look forward to those, at least. ^_^

God I like the idea already! Gotta say your an amazing writer and artist, and I completely understand you. I recently started re-watching the series all over again Β and i'm already falling in love with it all over again. It's a shame not many know or even remember this show, because its quite old. However I think its one of my favorite shows I have watched ever since i was a kid. By reading your story and seeing your art I feel like a kid and fan-dreaming again. So thank you very much for that. I appreciate it. And I can't wait to see more of your work no matter how long it takes

TuxedAaron In reply to Andresome [2016-06-15 23:50:50 +0000 UTC]
Well, Gargoyles has always stood the test of time as one of my favorite shows.Β In fact, I honestly believe that Gargoyles and Kim Possible share the top spot as the two best series Disney has ever produced (I tie them for first because Gargoyles is a drama while KP is a comedy, so it's kind of an apples-to-oranges thing).
There are a couple of other ideas I've been toying with for the stories I mentioned, but I'm on the fence as to whether I want add them. With the story where Adam is born, I'm thinking about a possible face-off between Macbeth and John Castaway. Although the key to that encounter is getting into another idea from Greg Weisman's 2009 comic book mini-series, which is that John Castaway is actually Jonathan Canmore, the youngest of the three Hunter siblings. And I'm on the fence as to whether or not I want to go that way. While it would kind of give Macbeth some closure with the Canmores, the story behind John's new identity in the comics was that he was being financed by the Illuminati. And, like a lot of the ideas Weisman put forth at that time, we never really got an explanation for it, so the whole thing just petered out with no payoff.
I'm also thinking about bringing back future Adam in the story, but I keep bouncing back and forth as to whether I want to put him in the actual fight, or whether I just want him to be a brief cameo at the very end.
Another little thing I'm tossing around is with the Angela/Broadway thing, they're looking out of Adam while Goliath and Elisa get their first time alone in a few months. After Adam came along, they're both a little wary about being too "intimate". But let's just say it doesn't take long for them to get back into the swing of things. After all, the way I've got things mapped out, Adam was strictly a one-shot deal. They won't be able to conceive again after that.
Of course, just like Goliath and Elisa's sexual relationship in "The Path Unfolding", anything further would be strictly implied, not revealed in any detail. In fact, early in Chapter one of TPU, I was actually giving some thought to an "afterglow" scene between the two of them, but ultimately decided against it.
All-in-all, though, I'm glad my work has struck such a chord with you. ^_^

So glad you enjoyed the story.Β As for a sequel, well, it's not that I wouldn't like to do one.Β The thing is, all I have are a handful of vague concepts right now, nothing near being ready to write with. As for my fanfics in general, I'm hoping to get into my next KP story very soon.Β That's actually why I just left my most recent Journal entry, politely asking everyone to not send me any more pic requests, at least until I can get caught up with my current artwork and get some writing off my plate.Β For the record, the next fic I'm planning to write is going to be entitled, "Super Vir-Tu-Ron II: The New Warriors" (and if you know your KP episode titles, you already know where this story's going to take them).Β For now, though, all I can do is ask you to be patient for just a little while longer.Β I WILL have something for you soon.^_^
Again, glad you liked the story.Β I'm guessing you liked the pic, too.^_^

Indeed I do. I'll admit, when I first heard about the show, I was a little skeptic. I mean, I've what "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and I thought, "Oh, no. It's going to be another Disney soap-opera." But after watching it, I'll admit it is a great show and very entertaining, especially when Puck is around! Hey speaking of Puck, if-and-when you make the sequel, are you going to make him somewhat of a baby sitter for Adam? Because he does watch out for Alex when he is Owen.
Also, not to sound demanding or anything, but I read you story "Point of View" and I just nearly fainted as I was reading it. I really hope your also considering on doing a sequel on that as well.
And finally, I was also wondering when you were going to make the next Danny Phantom story. I mean, the last one you wrote was great and all, but it has gotten me curious as to what'll happen next. And whose is this guy "G"? Is he an agent working for Clockwork, because the way he was talking on his headset and all makes me think it could be Clockwork's doing, or at least he's involved in some case. Please write back when you can.

TuxedAaron In reply to OpMn [2013-08-08 07:13:26 +0000 UTC]
Well, Puck was definitely one of the lighter-side tension breakers of Gargoyles.Β And yes, you do have to kind of tough it out a little, in parts.Β Gargoyles is one of those shows that is heavy on the drama, but the action punches it up.Β And you DO have to watch every episode, or else you CAN get lost.
As for Adam, well, my current plan is to have the Mazas and the clan doing most of the heavy lifting, as far as bringing up little Adam goes (particularly Goliath, Angela and Broadway, on the clan side of things).Β Which isn't to say that Adam and Alex won't be doing their fair share of hanging out together.Β I think it would be kind of ironic, in a way, having the next generation get along so well, while the first generation has kind of a dubious indifference to each other.
As for my fanfic, "Point of View", I'm glad you liked it so much (hopefully, you enjoyed "Resolve" equally well).Β As for the continuing on with my JLU fics, believe me, I am thinking about that. The problem is, none of my ideas are anywhere near developed yet. I definitely want to write more stories which brings the Teen Titans into the mainstream DCAU (it really doesn't require a phenomenal leap of faith to put the TT series in canon with it). But again, my ideas aren't anywhere close to being developed enough.
I know I'd like to do something with Raven, teaming her up with other magical team members like Dr. Fate and Zatanna (and possibly also Etrigan and Blue Devil for a little added muscle). The obvious villain of the piece would be Trigon (and possibly Raven's brothers), but that's about as far as I've gamed it out. I need a lot more detail than that.
For Beast Boy, I'm giving some thought to teaming him up with Green Lantern and Flash (sort of a nod to Wally West's Kid Flash days while giving the normally straight-laced John Stewart TWO knuckleheads to look after). As for the villains, I'm thinking about using The Brain (from TT) and Gorilla Grodd (and yes, I do more or less have an explanation for how Grodd survived getting shot into space by Lex Luthor in the JLU episode, "Alive!").
And then there's Cyborg, my least developed idea. Truthfully, Cyborg was especially difficult to find a partner for. All I knew was that I didn't want to team him up with somebody like Steel because I could just hear the comments now, rolled eyes and all ("Oh look. He put the two black guys together. Didn't see THAT coming."). Recently, though, I came up with the thought of teaming him up with Martian Manhunter, in light of Cyborg's body kind of making him feel a little alien on earth, himself.Β I also came up with the idea of using Brother Blood as the villain.Β But I still don't have a scheme for him yet.
But getting away from those crossover ideas, I still have another one that is in desperate need of fleshing out. This one involves Galatea, the DCAU incarnation of Power Girl who was Supergirl's clone. While the argument could be made that Supergirl killed her in the JLU series, my take is that she was put into a coma from the fight, only to wake up and discover that the Justice League has made peace with Cadmus. Faced with the grim realization of being a living weapon with no war to be used in, Galatea finds herself struggling with a world that no longer has a place for her in it. And as she begins to run wild, it's ultimately up to Superman to step in and put a stop to her rampage.
As for my next Danny Phantom story, well, that's going to be a little ways off yet.Β While I do plan to get back to my fanfics soon, my next couple, at least, are going to be for my Kim Possible series (that one's been kind of falling to the wayside and I really need to get caught up with it).Β But when I do get back into Danny Phantom fics, you're actually still not going to find out about "G" anytime soon.Β You will eventually, but not right away.Β I will say, however, that no, he is NOT working for Clockwork (Clockwork actually wouldn't mind him straying off the beaten path occasionally).Β But you'll find out more about that when you find out more about him.
Well, I THINK I've answered all of your questions.Β Is there anything else?^_^

Well, for the record, his situation is a little more complicated than that.Β While his Gargoyle genes become active at night and dormant during the day, he can still remain human at night if he wants to.Β His Gargoyle genes just give him access to his strength, as well as the physical durability.Β But the rest of the story will speak for itself once you read it.Β I hope you like what you see.
You might find this story a little different than you expect, because while this story introduces him, it's not about his birth (although Angela would undoubtedly lavish much doting and attention on the little one once he comes along).Β I think you'll still find some sweet moments in amongst all the action that takes place.^_^
Glad you like the pic.^_^
