Here is a teaser for the origins of Skull Girl's dark/demonic-like powers!
Mallory Rivera was a normal girl who went to school just like her twin brother, Marco. However, after an incident resulting from a dare goes awry, Mallory ends up being partially possessed by the UnderWorld demon prince, Seth. The combined possession ends up having their personalities fused in an entity they end up calling 'Skull Girl'. Now bound together due to Seth's previously intangible form and Mallory's connection with The Darkness, they must be forced to work together to get what they each want: Seth to fight for his rightful place as next-in-line king from his sister, Lezabel, and Mallory to get this awful curse lifted from her...

Yes, Skull Girl does have a partially lavender tint to her otherwise light mocha/tan skin. That is due to Seth's cloud grey skin tone before possessing Mallory.
