Because that's effin' brilliant!! Man, I can't believe you're only the second or third person I've seen so far that's thought of doing THAT instead of making it some kind of freaky toad- or lizard-thing. Though seriously, I LOVE the dicynodont interpretation of Bulbasaur/ Ivysaur/ Venasaur.

I hear you man. On a completely unrelated note, I've always thought that Absol was some manner of surviving Mesonychid and it always makes me so angry when people turn its hoof-claws into paws and/or give it a dog-like muzzle when its face is CLEARLY cat-like (with just a tiny bit of human-like traits) in order to make it into some kind of feline or wolf or fox. What makes me even more mad is that practically no-one has even HEARD of Mesonychids so nobody makes any art of them in that way, thus leading to me being angered by nearly ALL "realistic" art pieces of Absol.

Well, at least you've got some ungulate elements mixed in there with carnivore features, so that's something. Nice touch with "the third eye" so much more literal.
Interestingly enough, Absol is based on a creature from Oriental mythology known as the Bai-Ze, which further supports my Mesonychid hypothesis as it's described mainly as a mix between a cow and a lion: bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki…
