Description Jan/ 2010 - Shell Beach, California

A shot that I had originally discarded. Wasn't to keen on the angle of the rocks with the composition of the image and it was way to under exposed. But I recently did some work with it. Brightened up the image. Balanced out the contrast best I could and I added the graduated tint to the sky. I have to say that I like it a lot now and it's one of my new favorite images. Please give some feedback if you have any.

Thanks man, that's in Shell Beach between Spyglass Park and the Cliffs Resort. I'm not sure if it's easy to see anymore. The sand may have risen enough to hide it now. That was taken back in January when the sands had been sucked into the ocean from the ravenous storms we had. I had never seen before and when I saw it I was so taken by it and fascinated. The next day I went back there and tried to shoot it from all angles. It is such an interesting formation. There's a few different pics in my gallery of it. Really fun to shoot and quite a challenge.

sweet! yeah, sands shift a lot. i hadn't seen rock formations like that down there either, so it probably depends on the time of year and how the tides are dictating the amount of sand on the beach
