Description 60cm ball jointed doll body sculpted by myself using Apoxie Sculpt over various armatures. The torso was originally sculpted and donated by otherunicorn and has been modified by myself to add more surface detail. The body comprises of some 24 separate parts and is strung with elastic. Each part is molded in silicone and then cast in polyurethane resin.

Thank you!

This one in particular is discontinued, you can buy the new type from enchantmentdoll.com.

As for knowing how to make one, it's just research and practise and trial and error... check out [link] which is a forum for bjd artists to share and learn.

Thank you I guess yes they are a lot of work, and I can't really think of an easy way to explain how to make them, all I did was decide that I wanted to try and then I started. Surely there was a lot of research and trial and error along the way, and still a lot of room for improvement now. There are very few if any English language books and websites on the topic of making Ball jointed dolls/BJD, but I could give you a few links to Japanese ones, which can be run through babelfish. I also have some very roughly thrown-together notes from the workshop I gave at the BJD artists retreat in Ohio last October. Keep an eye on bjdartists.com as another retreat is being planned for this year, although the workshops and topics will be somewhat different there will be plenty of people with different levels of experience there to talk to and share with. I think it would be interesting to see sculpts like yours being jointed and articulated for further interaction.

WOW she's beautiful!!! X33 That's such a cool photo, she's a big girl! I love the extra hip joint, I'm so trying that on my next humanoid sculpt, I've always like dolls being able to bring their knees up closer to the body.

Thank you I like the idea and the function, but not happy with the execution at the moment.

Why not? Does it not stay in place, bend easy, or do you not like how it looks? Cause I think it looks great!

Yeah for me it's a "looks" issue, but I am playing with new options.
