Description
A work in progress (need to do a background but am getting lazy now that the fun part is over
). This scene is from the brilliant Naomi Novik's "His Majesty's Dragon", the first book of the Temeraire series. The dragon Temeraire hatches in the presence of surgeon Pollit, Captain William Laurence and a nervous Midshipman Carver.

I must say it's quite strange to see Lawrence in his marine-time uniform - mostly u see him as aviator already. But I must say it suits him well

Haha, yes, it was great fun to draw him in the Navy uniform. Especially because he always depicted as being quite meticulous about clothing. I made a small mistake though because he is wearing Hessian boots and I later realized this is not correct for the Navy uniform. Poor Laurence, depicted in full regalia but with the wrong boots, lol.
