Seriously. Does anyone remember, back in the day, when Super Soakers were powerful enough to take the skin off your squishy little child body? But you didn't care because it was about 100 degrees outside and the water was sooo cold and it hurt so bad being shot point-blank, but seeing your opponent's face scrinch up in pain made it all worth it? Those were the glory days~
Cell-shaded commission for Stormkern over on FA of Solaris, (orange on the left,) pitched in a not-so-even battle with his smallish henchman.
Hahaha, loved working on this one, and I'm in love with how it turned out. ^^ I had to add a bit of a background, too, like a tropical island sort of look.
Also, this totally reminded me how much I love cell shading. Expect my next batch of commissions, (sometime within the next few weeks,) to be cell shading, omg.
Minion's water gun based off the Super Soaker Monster XL, and Solaris' off of the Electrostorm, both changed up and some high-tech elements added for a bit of a sci-fi touch.

How do I even start? Dragons and Super Soakers.. A totally unique concept (that I know of) and a hilarious one to boot.
The background doesn't take away from the detail of the characters, especially the look on Solaris's face. And the gigantic squirt gun (is it even a squirt gun anymore when it's bigger than you are?) that Minion's got vs. the little tiny pistol.
The shading's well done, but truth be told, it doesn't factor very much into my review of the piece. The lines are good, the concept's good, and the colors and layout are good.

Too cute! I miss those days at the pool or beach as a kid. One day my dad brought out some weird water gun (it was basically just one cylinder inside another but its water pressure was immense and had a good 20 second constant spray) and he obliterated all our super soakers. And that thing HURT. He sure knew how to get the kids out of the pool when it was time. None of us had the arms to operate the thing, so we were utterly outclassed, like poor Solaris there. xD
