Wingspan Comparison Reference featuring my feather-winged draconic characters!
This is a project I've been wanting to do for a looong time, and I finally found some downtime on deployment to whip it up! I'm happy I ended up waiting so long to do this, too, as I included a few newer characters of mine! I love working on the wings of all my characters, and wanted to make an official comparison chart showing just how much they vary in terms of size and shape!
My characters all have very specific jobs they perform or environments to live in! I often go into a lot of detail on these on their specific ref sheets, but having them all lined up together really shows how different they are and how important a detail such as wing shape comes into play!
I've included little blurbs next to them, including character name, species, and a couple big-ticket items defined by their wingspans and shapes. If you have any specific questions regarding a particular character, check out their own ref sheet, or ask me if it's not covered or if I haven't done their ref yet! :>
I plan on making full-body silhouette size comparisons as well! I decided to only include my feather-winged dragon characters on this one, as if I'd included all of my winged characters, this sheet would be much larger than it already is! X,D
You'll notice it includes a ton of DutchADs! You'll notice that DADs can vary quite a bit in size. Also, friendly reminder that not all wings are the same shape! <3 This is a really big - and really FUN - detail that folks sometimes forget about when designing new characters!
I've included Muzafr, as well, at the top! Mainly to emphasize just how larger she is than the majority of the flock! This aspect really comes into play when she has interactions with some of the smaller Squadron members, especially the more junior folk...

Aspect Ratio! Even though I'm not familiar with your characters, I really enjoyed this. I like doing this sort of thing myself and can always appreciate when people spend time on the technical bits (and like it). Looking forward to the fully-body silhouette size comparison!

Also, great job on your wing drawings. I was thinking of making my own dutchy flock. But I would call them my fleet. Since I love being out on the water, and so why not take them with me? They are family after all ^_^

Yeah! I am actually inspired by what you have done with your dutchies. And ever since i was little even, I loved being near the water and marine life!

I really like comparisons and sheets like that *^* Same as comparison of a dragon to a human to see his height and such things. It's interesting and gives a better feeling and understanding of the shown character.

beware though, if you start offering this kind of thing as commission you likely end up with a really really big map featuring all kinds of folks commissioning their dragon(s)....
i'd be up for it, comparisons are fun as are multi character charts
ps, comparing my own size and stuff (using the ref you made back then) makes me look like a slow heavy fat ac-130 amidst nimble fighterplanes lol.... (well... size and weight is more alike the bf110-c4 to be more truthfull)

Ah, that'd be cool, though! I could do polls of people of various dragon types, species, elements, and they could put their names in kind of 'Your-Character-Here' style for 'dragon community' comparison charts! Like maybe 'YCH comparison charts' of 10-20 people at a time, covering many different aspects of the community!
It would be a lot of work, but would be awesome to work on and feature so many different designs, and compare them next to each other in terms of wingspan, wing shape, etc. I love that kind of a project!

it would depend on the price a bit, but i think you'd gain a lot of attention with it very quickly.

Price-wise, they'd be pretty inexpensive! It's very quick for me to whip up both wingspan and ref-sheet-style silhouettes. ^^
