eheheh.. titles are hard.. I'm borrowing yours, NekoJackun ..!Anyway, the signature says it all..! Although, it might say that this is a collab pic of me and COGBrony , but no.. all I did was adding that little key there..!
So~.. this was done out of generosity of The Magnificent COGBrony ..! And.. I don't know what else to say.. everyone already knows who COGBrony is, and there is no denying it that he really is good at what he does..!
PS: Oh, and if you're somehow wondering about why this drawing isn't as interesting as his usual drawings.. well, this was made under my strix supervision like asus, so he was kind of holding himself back.. eheheh..!

Alright if you really want to know read on, otherwise skip this paragraph:
Big Mac fell in love with Sugarbelle from Starlight's village. The CMC notice and want to help him "win" her. There's a competitor though, who looks amazing and can do anything extremely well it seems - he has 3 mares crushing on him at all times while he tries to woo Sugarbelle. Every attempt the CMC create to make her like Big Mac fails and gets instead used by that competitor and at the last attempt they both mess up, making her angry/upset and sending them both away. Big Mac, heartbroken, secretly repairs the damage he caused remembering something she had said to him earlier, which she finds very appealing and at last they actually get together. The competitor is sad because of it, but the CMC point out to him that he has 3 beautiful mares crushing on him at all times and suggest he try with them. (It's actually quite funny how it seems the CMC suggest he date all 3 at once ~~)
That's everything "big" that happens in there.
If you didn't read the part above, that episode is actually about the CMC ~~

I can understand that as a preference, but it's still a shame considering there's so much great art of non-Pony Trixie, too...

That's just it: whenever they accidentally or purposely unleash hell, they do it with pureness and innocence of their minds, as in without any personal agendas, even if the result could be dangerous like back then when they shipped Big Mac and Cheerilee with love poison.. Their minds are not infected with politics and prejudice; they explore and try to find what they think is the best way to deal with the situations..!
You might think "isn't that what the Mane Six are doing?" (as in, doing problem-solving stuff without bad intentions), but.. well, from what I see, especially in the late seasons, the Mane Six do stuff that will only benefit for them.. But still, everyone at the very least learn their lessons..
I don't mean to be so negative on the Mane Six, but.. I just miss the stuff from earlier seasons, especially 1 and 2..
Anyway, well, I can understand that preference.. yeah, non-pony stuff, like EqG and other thing, too have many potentials to explore, especially when talking about fan arts..! Shame as you might think it'd be, there are people who love to stick to the original.. hahaha..!

Yep, nothing wrong with that preference and if people want to stick to the original. It just feels like a "best of character X" should also include the other forms of that character if the art is good and not just reflect the personal preference of some, know what I mean? ~~

But yeah, I still like the ones from the past.. like Sonic Rainboom for example, where it showed a character's struggle, fear, and hardship.. but for the sake of good friendship, overcame all that and achieved something impossible..!
And, of course I do know what you mean.. we need to be "professional" when it comes to "judging" (unless it's a list made for our own amusement only.. haha..!) I remember my friend was selected to be a judge for some competition event, and even though she didn't like the theme she had to stay pro and look from another angles and perspectives, not just her own..! Say, what was S7E9 all about, again..? (pffh.. iJoke.. I've watched that episode..!)

The struggle is what makes the audience sympathize with the character, and the stake is what makes the audience root for the character..! Sonic Rainboom has those factors, and while it might be executed averagely, it still delivers..!
Anyway.. yeah, it's another factor: Relatable..! As the name suggest, it's what makes the audience can relate to the story..! Of course the FiM writers can make a storytelling that we can see happening in RL quite often..!
But, still.. about Honest Apple.. what made me a bit down when watching that episode, is that how Rarity was, like, slightly blaming AJ for AJ's uneducated opinion towards fashion.. Sure later in the episode Rarity gave a lesson to her,Β but it was all felt like a set-up.. like Rarity purposely made AJ look bad so she then could teach her a lesson later (because she's the one who talked Applejack into doing it..) But, hey, what do I know.. heheh..!

And when they finally succeed, it will be the greatest achievement, not only for the character but also for the audience..! (again, just like the sonic rainboom back in the day.. now, Dash can pull it off easily, and it somehow become less epic when she does it..)
And, aye, that is indeed the reason in some cases..! Seeing the character is facing the problem they are having, or dealing with matters that they too have to deal make them feel emotionally close to the character..! So~.. it doesn't matter whether it's fictional or real life, the way the character lives his or her life is what matters to them, what inspires them..!

I'm having a hard time choosing usually, it changes every now and then depending on what I last saw/read/listened to etc.Β
But Sunset Shimmer is usually at the top of that list ever since Rainbow Rocks and the 3 specials they released afterwards which had her EPIC transformation (My Past is not Today). I cannot even say whyΒ -Β seeing as we just had that I cannot relate to having to redeem myself in that magnitude at all - but something about her underdog role and redemption and her character worked for me ever since then.Β
If we're talking non-EG it's harder, there what I said above applies very much (changes depending on...). However Dash, Twi and AJ are usually top contenders with Luna always being there as an amazing backup plan ~~

Even the Five are just like being there for the sake of Sunset's progress, and Sci-Twi is just there for the sake of missing a "Twilight Sparkle" in the group..! So much for the CMC to have a decent screen time.. but what can I say, Sunset really is a pony with Power and Potential, even in her EG form.. hahaha..!

Concerning Twilight in EG, it actually feels like the focus is slowly shifting away from Sunset. To me it felt like SciTwi was the focus of Legend of Everfree. Now I love Twilight as much as the next person but I hope that doesn't keep happening, we already have Twilight with the ponies, but we only have Sunset with the humans... so she should be the main character for that cast. Exceptions are no problem of course just as I said I hope that's not going to be the new formula with Twilight being the main character all the time.

Concerning Twilight in EG.. well, isn't that the actual intention about EG? Ahahaha..! But, yes, Sunset got too much spotlight, and I think the Writers realized this so they were trying to put it back to where it "belong"; to the Mane Six..! And despite all that, Sunset is still there when the Mane Six need her (no I'm not talking about the ending in RR and FG..) In LoE we may not see things from Sunset's perspective so often, but she's still the one keeping the boat afloat (maybe also keeping the "ship" sailing.. haha..) from the back..!
I still think the Writers put Sci-Twi there just to complete the Mane Six original members.. like, it'd be a hassle to keep making Princess Twilight go back and forth Mirror World, so they made a "replacement" for her.. Which is also my speculation of why we haven't seen Human Sunset yet (maybe also Human Starlight).. because even if she was there, even if it's just for making cameo appearance, she'd have no role in the group..!
I think the set is; in FiM, we have Twilight as the next gen Mentor and Starlight as the next gen Pupil.. and in EG, we have Sunset and Sci-Twi for those roles..!

Heheh.. well, this EG stuff has become a serial of its own, and I think it also has its own lore even regarding the Mane Six..! So, just like FiM, even though the main character is obviously Twilight Sparkle, there are episodes where other characters get their chance to be in the spotlight too.. but because it's a movie, it takes a bit longer to cover everyone.. And I think, these movies are just getting started..!
As for EG shorts.. I haven't watched all of them, so I don't know either..! It's not aired here where I live, so my only source is Dailymotion.. hahaha..!

Well, about my concept, it's simple: Shimmer is a very skilled and talented pony.. if somepony can do certain magic, so can she (and maybe even more considering how skilled and talented she is, but still hasn't been shown in the movies)..!
So, in this case of EG CMC wanting to go to pony world and experiencing the world themselves, I want to make Shimmer to be able to send their consciousness temporarily to each of their alternate existences in pony world.. so, it'd be like, physically they're still in EG world, but they're "possessing" their pony selves in Equestria..! But this is just me stretching the imagination of what Shimmer can do.. hahah..!
Anyway~.. it'll take me some times until I finished S7, though.. so maybe you want to give me a hint about my particular question..? please~..!
