Everyone sure does.. but Ms. Shimmer knows what would happen if she had a friend; the consequences would be unbearable.. nothing is lost until you lose a friend, so if you don't have any, you have nothing to lose..
But she's a bit relieved now, knowing that a certain someone lives a normal life in her stead.. someone she owes so much, someone that was willing to take the trouble going with her plan: The Sunset Shimmer of Canterlot High..

and as I might have stated, I don't consider this a 'ship' just because I draw them in a same picture doing something cute
