I believe the english name for this bird is a Black Throated Diver, but it's Kuikka in Finnish. Watercolor and white gouache

They have such cool markings, and I think I even saw one with like, reddish eyes online. Pretty wicked birds, I really wanted to make a character with their markings (or at least influence) for a while. Maybe I still will, but one with Hooded Crow x Magpie markings is still on the list :'D

Oh yes, and indeed they do have red eyes - indeed over here they're known for having red eyes. ^^
