I was editing this photo around the same time that I was studying for my 19th Century American Literature course. I was looking at these photos, and for some reason Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself" came to mind, just pieces of it mind you.This poem is so intricate. Everything Whitman wrote is. And I have to say that after this semester he has become my favorite poet. "Song of Myself" is so multi-faceted, I'm pretty sure you could draw a quote from it for any situation, whether it be social, political, personal, environmental, historical...
If anyone out there is into poetry, I strongly suggest looking into Whitman, specifically "Song of Myself". I've read that poem at least 25 times, hell I wrote my exam essay entirely on one stanza, and I STILL notice something new every time I read it.

19th Century American Literature, eh? Only acquianted with a particular seafaring work of one Herman Melville and, more familiarly, Mark Twain.

I was so devastated. Our entire course was leading up to Twain, but he was cut at the end of the course because the Olympics messed up our schedule D:.
But, now I'm more keen than ever to pick up Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn!
Melville's "Benito Cereno" might just trump "Moby Dick" for him, imo. One of the best pieces of short fiction written on racism I've ever read. Well, actually, I guess it's written more on ignorance than blatant racism. Worth a read!

I've really been wanting to cosplay as Link from Twilight Princess because the costume is so much more intricate and realistic with the more subdued hues and whatnot, but I don't have the resources at the moment. >_>

And yeah, Dickinson is sort of my fetish (if I dare say so myself), but the problem with our literature program is that we spend so much time talking about racism and "coming of age" stories that even if the writing's good, we get bored of hearing the "American Dream" or whatever it is.

We had to write our own "song of myself" for my honors english class so I'm pretty familiar with the poem, it's very good (just like your cosplay) I wrote mine mostly about my otaku lifestyle of course.
