Description
"Poetry," I said"Express yourself," she said
My words aren't for
The faint of heart
They aren't for the ill
They are strung together with
Blood, poison, and suicide laced
Between the letters
Softly interacting like a mother
Would with her child
Yet so familiar like family
Siblings and cousins
They say misery loves company
My misery is written in ink
Black words scrawled across
The white and blue page
Seemingly making sense
Yet unyielding in my secrets
I store behind every haunted
Word
It tells no lies, only truths
The key is what's required
To open me
To read me
But these poisoned words will
Make you weep in the
Privacy of your room
Tears soaking your pillow
Nightmares unleashed behind
Your eyelids
Unrelenting in the night
My mental storm continues
My poetry does not cease
Even without someone to read
It
"There," I said
"You've expressed nothing," she said
"I expressed my poetry,
That is all you wanted."
