Applied for a job recently. They are making me draw a couple things as a home test.One of the pieces i have to do is a lion. I havent really drawn a lion before, so this was a good learning experience. After doing some reference research, i gotta say LIONS ROCK like pokeballs!!! [which actually roll so im told] They are just awesome beasts, and if i stop playing marioKart one of these days i might actually do a more complex piece.
Anyhow, the actual resolution they want this at is 128 pixels at 72dpi. I think i might have gone overboard with the detail.

Pffft shrink it down and they won't even notice.
The mane and the forehead until the little white crests above the eyes look perfect, but i think the eyes are really really bold. Maybe it's that there's no little fleshy coloured bit in each corner to show the inside of the lid when open. Overall your vectors are getting better, and you really ought to push yourself further [instead of playing that damn mario kart!]
...though i can't talk. I have the same vice known as Diablo...

This one aint vector. would have taken me DAYS to do, so i just painted it in photoshop. Yeah the white crests ive dulled down after a few comments [I loved those white crests all you bastards!!], but i do agree it did make it look better.
And the eyes i left like that so they could be clearly visible at such a small size. a TINY size....

Yeah i thought the white above the eyes was too much, but because the finished version is gonna be so fucken TINY, i wanted it to stand out a little.
