Description
Twokinds Tutorials - Digitigrade LegsLooking around Deviantart, I noticed that there weren't very many good, detailed guides on drawing characters with digitigrade legs, like those featured on my Keidran and Basitin races. Digitigrade, for those unaware, is a term for an animal that walks on their digits (toes) rather that flat-footed, as we humans do. This style of character design can be difficult for someone unused to this type of anatomical structure. Now, I am not claiming to be any sort of expert. But I have been drawing these guys for more than ten years now, and I often get asked how I draw certain things. So this is not necessarily a "how to draw" tutorial" as it is a "how I draw" tutorial, if you get my meaning.
I hope this information can prove useful for those of you who are aspiring artists, or at least interesting to those who wish to learn more about how I go about my drawing process. So without further adieu, please allow Flora to demonstrate for you how it works! Enjoy!

"An answer for every question" is supposed to mean:
I like to be prepared for every situation.
And the other stuff meant:
I love suprises, but theyre rare.

I tryed the walk/stand phosition for around 2 months and it was hard at the start to wait for the bus like this but...well i guess i prefer it now.
About the stabillity:
-I didnt find out to walk"Normally" with this position but if you like to run, it may help (Wach out, youre hard to stop).
-I found out, if you stand A BIT like"action pose" your stabillity may increase.
About the effect:
-As long as i dont run, nobody will see the diference.
-The lower leg muscle may become steel and if you tense it, you can see its shape.the upper leg muscle got a bit too and the abdominal muscles may become stronger too(they become stronger, but its still faar away from a six pack).
-The thing with the instinct will also come with the time.
Im sorry for some english word mistakes but im on it.

Huh. Β Should work for 3D rigging, as long as I can not screw up the armature in the process...
Also, looks pretty accurate. Β My cat can verify.

I've never been good at drawing full body anthros/digitigrades until I stumbled upon this treasure. Β I almost got it right on the first try. Β Thanks so much for this. Β I look forward to seeing more Tkturials and TwoKinds.

Can never get enough digitigrade tutorials. I develop my style all the time, so checking out other's ways then seeing how it goes with mine is one of my best ways.

It's clear, it's concise, and Flora there adds just enough funny to keep it from being flat and boring. This is a lot like how I do mine, but you've clarified some poses I'd never have dreamed of trying. This one's definitely going into my tutorial archive, and I hope to see more from you in the future!
