Description
Sigh, there's no category for "funny" pics. Then again, this is an ART site lol. Ok, this is a form of art, it is the art of laughter (at least, for the people who have played this game)My friend and I have oft talked of "conscript spam" in RA2, not as a legitimate tactic, but just for the fun of it. I was most certainly inspired by the first soviet mission and their surplus of soldiers which they hand over to you and say "go, blow up Washington DC"
For kicks, try and find the Crazy Ivan (he is a different unit from the rest of the conscripts) And no, the Apocalypse tank doesn't count, it stands out rather well.
You saw this on flickr you say? It probably my flickr. Not convinced? I could send you the save file

This is brilliant. xD Β I once charged a Brutal enemy base with more than 100 Conscripts. They were so many that I had to divide them into three groups so they would move. xD It ended horribly/ nicely. xd I won, but not without the loss of so many conscripts. xD A full division of like 10 conscripts got their butts handed to them by 2 attack dogs. xDΒ

lol I lost almost half of my Conscript Division lol xD It's still among my favorites strategies. xD I absolutely love how the Conscript says, "You are sure?" when you give them an attack order when the enemy is already attacking them xD LOLΒ

"No one will expect anΒ conscript charge !!!" - My Battlecry.
That is one of top 10 best strategy i love to use in Red Alert 2. Right in begin of the game. I don't give crap about any thing else. All i care is: How manyΒ conscript i have. Where is my enemy. How far from here to there.
And when things done. Ready for your nightmare. In my entire live until now. This strategy only fail me 3 times. Other.......burn to the ground.

hmm well i usually win all my battles using conscripts
i pretty much garrison the whole map with conscripts so that they'll be protected from snipers, tanyas, chrono legionnaires, navy seals, dogs and other special enemy units after that when all the buildings are filled up i pull some of them out to attack the enemy
i also use war miners instead of tanks since they're pretty strong and can repair themselves and use flacktracks for places where i can't build flak cannons
as for tanks i just use them to destroy walls
i'd say i'm quite an urban commander when it comes to conscripts but then if there ain't that many houses i just make more war miners instead
one time i even destroyed my enemy's base with just one Boris and ten veteran conscripts

Heh, the soviet version of "Where's Waldo"! I've found the Crazy Ivan in about five minutes.
If you really want to see a unit spam, get about 20 war factories up and start churning out apocalypse tanks like there's no tomorrow - It's fun being in command of a tank division for a game!

twtmaster In reply to ChapterAquila92 [2009-11-03 04:11:10 +0000 UTC]
Aaahhh getting the RA2 chills now gonna fire it up again
Woah. I was wondering what you meant by having more than one factory. I always though one factory was all you needed - wiki tells me the more factories you have, the faster you build :S wow, you learn something new everyday

ChapterAquila92 In reply to twtmaster [2009-11-03 11:37:01 +0000 UTC]
That is actually true - in fact, you can build vehicles so fast that multiple factories will be spawning them if you have at least ten or tewelve.

har har har X__X I try 3 war factories and barely notice the difference :S lol thats just a fraction of 12, let alone 20 O__O Although it'd probably be very useful in the later missions

With 17 war factories, you can produce two Kirov airships per second.

I will do this. And i thought 6 factories and churning out rhinos was awesome enough, clearly an armada of kirovs will beat...anything

Best to take out the defense buildings at the top of the plateau just northeast of the base and capture the tesla generators at the start. I also recommend that you hold off on your silo until you have enough tesla coils and flak cannons to render that plateau impenetrable by both land and air units. Hopefully this pic helps [link]

twtmaster In reply to ChapterAquila92 [2009-11-06 13:09:43 +0000 UTC]
I put my silo in my base, and have Flak troopers make a corridor where the kirovs come in. Suffice to say, many died for their duty but in the end, at least they have/can chaff I took note of your plateau and turned it into a tesla fortress, worked a charm
(although Curtained terror drones made a mess of the telsa troopers powering the towers >___> )
Now I wonder how hard it would be for me on Hard

Of course, I've modded my version to the point where I can't pull off this same trick without losing everything to apocalypse tanks that go nuclear. Thank god the mod also enabled you to effectively cloak your base, otherwise destroying the Kremlin would be a real bitch on Easy.
It's also pretty funny when half of your enemy's forces stockpile in your cloaked base, unable to target anything that doesn't shoot back. Something like 60 Kirovs swarming above the nuke silo trying to find it as well.
