Description
Temelechus is among the last surviving angels who rebelled against Michael and the angelic high council tens of thousands of years ago. During Lucifer's rebellion, he assisted Sammael in a failed attempt to transport Lilith to Earth. Following the end of the conflict, Temelechus, like all who rebelled, was condemned to death and cast into the Chaos Portal, a gateway to a great abyss. For thousands of years he drifted seemingly lifeless in the mysterious dark void. Eventually, Temelechus and dozens of angels were freed from the abyss when their bodies drifted close to a gateway which opened to the realm of the demons. After Lucifer's eventual capture by Zeus following the Demon Wars, Temelechus continued to serve under Sammael's authority. He has long served as an advisor to Sammael and proven his loyalty countless times. He now serves as one of Lilith's personal bodyguards at Sammael's behest.

I like that guy. Sometimes the folks in the second row have a lot of character. What you wrote about the Portal and abyss is interesting - why was it assumed to be a death sentence, and if so, why did it fail. One would assume that the angelic council should be aware of the basic tenets of angelic existence. There must be a twist to it...

The portal/abyss was always a mystery to the angels. The first to be captured by its pull was Abaddon, a close friend of Sammael, during the formative years of the angels' society. The two discovered its existence and Abaddon, not knowing it would 'suck' him in, approached the portal. From the angels' perspective, it is a black pit with energy emanating from its opening. I think of it as something of a black hole type opening. I liken the abyss to a cosmic oddity like a wormhole. There are reasons why portals to the abyss exist on various worlds, but I won't go into too much detail except that a 'higher' power used them to traverse from location to location. The angels had no knowledge of this. All they understood was a few good people were lost to its powerful pull. So they created two large doors to encapsulate the portal. They eventually used it as a means to condemn the criminals and enemies of their society through the centuries.
The portal's close connection to the one in the demon world (Sheol) was there for a reason, but the angels knew nothing of it. The earliest demons (Nephilim and their kin) and a few dark angels developed a faint understanding of the portal in their world when a few angels, through the centuries, were ejected from the abyss and into Sheol. The demon realm was actually where Abaddon ended up and was already there when the first demons discovered Sheol. He had been living there for centuries and had pretty much gone crazy. He sort of helped the demons down their corruptible path.
As far as angelic existence, they understood nothing of their creation except that none of them were born as infants. They crawled or were pulled from what I call the Genesis Wellspring, the pool where all angels first appear. For the sake of simplicity, I'll say they were the result of their creator's physical body having died decades or centuries before the first angels were formed. Only through prayer and having developed an established society with laws do they govern themselves. They speak to their creator through prayer but sometimes what they hear is not understood or misinterpreted.

Wow, thanks for that background information. Sounds pretty interesting. Of course the million dollar question would be wether the things works the other way around, providing a wonderful backdoor for an invasion to the angelic sphere...

Always fascinated by how you kitbash everyones clothing to suit each character so well - that part must take an awful lot of time to keep them all different from each other.
