Love the colors, but it feels a little too crowded with all those planets.

Agreed, those planets will eventually collide with each other and any life on them will be vaporized by the impacts.

Thanks, yeah it would probably been a little better had I made the moons smaller.

WOAH!
That's what I call a remake! it's fantastic!
This planets are realistic and wery well done, and the colours are more bright and the two stars much more realistic!
I love the starfield you've added and that red spotted planet.
I gladly notice you added a tiny shiny atmosphere on the giant ^^

Ha, thanks. You gotta add a litte atmoshpere. Even though, technically, gas giants are entirely gas and dont have a seperate atmoshpere like that. But thats just one of the beauties of being an artist, i can take those dumb laws of physics and kick em to the curb.

Uhm...they don't have a separate atmosphere, you say? good, I'll remember this for my future crits, thanks for explain

i like the glow effect from the red giant. how did you make the smaller planet? (the one in front of the gas planet)

All the planets were built in 3ds max.

Like this; artistic license aside, my only observation here is that there's no such thing (according to human eyes anyways) as a green star. See [link] for an explanation. Keep up the good work!

Thanks man. Yeah i know, its mostly the atmosphere that made it green, that and color enhancing. Thanks again sir.

Very nice job, really impressive stuff! I really like how you did the nebula "whisps". Were those just with a brush or some far more in depth technique? Anyways, great job

TylerCreatesWorlds In reply to TruDesigns [2010-12-21 22:30:10 +0000 UTC]
Well thank ya. I mostly used a soft round brush at like 3% opacity and 20% flow. I also used small bits of nebula and grunge brushes.

This is beautiful the detail and everything. I especially like how you got the planets orbiting around the biggest one. Awesome job

May I ask what program you used to make this?

TylerCreatesWorlds In reply to BoneGProductions [2010-12-22 03:14:58 +0000 UTC]
You may indeed. Ha, for the terrain and suns i used Terragen 2. The moons and gas giant were rendered in 3ds max and all shlapped together in Photoshop.

TJUArt [2010-12-21 15:17:48 +0000 UTC]
Wow, it's definitely an improvement on the original, I love what you've don with the suns, however I'd get rid of the fire thing on the planet in front of the gas giant, it looks kinda unrealistic

TylerCreatesWorlds In reply to TJUArt [2010-12-21 22:24:05 +0000 UTC]
thanks man. Yeah its a little unrealistic but i dig it. It helps to spice it up a bit i think.

Yeah, i really liked the way the old one looked but never did any postwork on the render. I thought it was about time to make it better.

Really nice colours. I've been wanting to try red and green in a space scene since its difficult to pull of well but is very unsual once done The vast expanse of has is cool too, it scatters the light and makes you wonder how deep down that area goes. Quite eerie
