Description
I decided to go back and improve on my Hook prototype, and I am very pleased with the new version. I'm currently working on another project that will take up a lot of my time so progress on the constructicons has been slow and half of them I have either decided or have to go back and redesign the upgrades so that they not only work but also look good. The characters that are causing me problems are Bonecrusher who I want to make new legs with tank treads instead of the wheels so that he doesn't look like FoC Prime with tank tracks attached to the sides of his legs and that is difficult to get modeled perfectly and I haven't even figured out how to add the wheels to allow it to roll. Long Haul and Mixmaster are basically causing the same problem which is how to integrate the rear of their alt modes into their robot modes in a way that 1 doesn't add so much weight to the figures back making them back heavy (which is hard because the backpacks seem to weigh more than the figures), 2 make it look good and not be just a brick of stuff on their back, 3 have it mount nice and securely. A few months ago, I bought a "broken" TR Brainstorm because I was interested in the shoulder hinges because I was inspired by other WFC/FoC tanks like Perceptor and wanted to add thrusters that would fold down in crane tank mode like how a truck crane has outriggers. While I was messing around with everything, I decided that I kind of like the having the crane arm going over his shoulder at an angle as a big cannon kind of like Armada Smokescreen instead of having it hang off his back and act as a kickstand. I still have some more work to do on Hook, but I like where my new design is going. I hope I'll have all 6 prototypes done before summer and then I'll have to start ordering the small pieces for each figure which will probably be expensive since there are 6 figures but hopefully it won't cost me 6 figures.
