thanks c: I'm thinking of adding more to it so I have a larger range of moves, perhaps a working character in the mugen engine if I ever work out how to use it lol.

That's some excellent animation!
Now if you'll excuse my shameless self-promotion I must say that you can try your character out directly on a Flash Fighting Engine sort of like MUGEN.
It's still on Beta but I guess I can work for just to check out the character in action.

If I had the scripting power and the time to make several characters I'd so do it, perhaps a cool Idea for a large flash collab though.

Some nit picking.
It probably doesn't fit with the overall style you are working with, but I would probably try adding some amount of blurs, stretching, or multiple images to describe the arcs of the action better.
Small things regarding the at rest cycle:
The shoulder on the right looks like it got pinned to the background - it does not move up and down with the breathing like the rest of the body.
While I like the way you rotated the weapons as part of the cycle - giving them depth and solidity - I think they tend to get too lost in the silhouette of the character.

I love the attacks, but what really shines is how she (he?) is holding the ladle and pan and how thery move in the hands.

Never heard of that, but he voices Joe Swanson, Mr Barkin, Buzz Lightyear, Kronk and various other muscly folk.
