Description
With it being Big G’s birthday, felt it was appropriate to do a full on, colored version of this dude’s design. With the initial concept being coming up non-traditional design for Godzilla, which I nicknamed BakunaGoji. This dude isn’t apart of something bigger universe or the like, his own isolated world in a Shin Gojira type of deal. There he is the only kaiju and thus the main focus. Didn’t originally put any thoughts into origins or anything but did likened him to be a literal mythical creature from past awoken in modern times. Since we’ve never had Godzilla take a literal mythical role in mainstream media. With that I took inspiration from Southeast Asian dragons and serpent as well as real life squamates such as boas or monitor lizards. Giving him these obsidian-like scales that gave a oriental dragon appearance. The snake-like face is call back to dragons such as Nagas. Taking aspects from Shin and GvK, he has the blue glow of Cherenkov Radiation faintly pulsing from underneath those glass like scales, wanting him to have this “otherworldly” aura. Didn’t really give him any ability since Tyrannos already has the Swiss Army knife of Godzilla abilities. This guy was straight forward and had more focus on the two things Godzilla is famous for; his indestructibility and deadly Atomic Breath. Kinetic-absorbing fat layered around his body along with his armored scales allows him to be unbothered by anything humanity throws at him, while his city-leveling atom breath lets him retaliate with just as equal or even greater force. With TyrannosGoji I wanted to focus on the less explored elements of Godzilla being a tragic creature, but this guy I can utilize that fun, wrathful “God of Destruction” everyone knows Godzilla for.
