Description
Guardian of the Cedar Forest, Terror of Men, The Ogre, The WerekaijuHumbaba the Great was interesting one in orgins. Of course with all my kaiju, specifically the ones on Earth, are chimera created from the sliced genetics of a multitude of fauna from the planet’s entire geological time scale. Since they were doing this up to the Holocene, it would be obvious that they would do this generic slicing with hominids, more precisely of the Homo genus. Humans. Found in suspended animation below Syria, it was very clear what mythology figure this creature inspired in the oast thus appropriate to “rename” him as such. While highly territorial, Humbaba mostly keeps to himself. Like that of Chicomecōātl, Humbaba produces an ammonia-like substance which he sweats and cause rapid planet growth of previous-unknown species of Cedar trees. This trees, know grown over what was once Alhora, were even taller than Redwoods and have been dubbed The Cedrus Forest as it was from the myths. Here Humbaba patrol throughout the forests as its gardener, using its trees to construct tools and traps for the Perahaim that been attracted to the forest. Unfortunately peaceful negotiations with humans did not go right as later Logging companies set their sights on the Forest. Initially sending in mercenaries deal and clear up the Perahaim that infested the forest to making logging safer for the workers. However it escalated when Humbaba caught word of their activities and led to a full on battle. The battle brought for a massive forestfire which destroyed all of the Cedrus Forest. Enraged by the destruction of his home, Humbaba went on a full rampage first across Syria before moving to Israel. Unable to quell the beast, V-1 Gargantuan was eventually called in and resulted in the mechanical titan slaying the Ogre. Wanted to have a slight call back to the Epic of Gilgamesh with this one, as same how battle in the myth ended. With the parallel with Gilgamesh and modern day humans aggressor, it argues who is truly the monster.
Sometime, later this month: El Cuero
